Young and the Restless News: Melissa Claire Egan Previews Her Hallmark Christmas Movie

Melissa Claire Egan, who’s also known as Chelsea Newman on “The Young and the Restless,” is starring in a new Hallmark Christmas movie titled “Holiday for Heroes.” The film, which is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 8, is a heart-warming story about Audrey (Chelsea Newman) and Matt Evans (Marc Blucas) who got to know each other by exchanging letters before meeting face to face.

When the news about the new Hallmark movie made headlines, Egan was excited to announce that she’s part of the film, which she said is a “rare, unique, beautiful, romantic story.”

She tweeted, “It’s Christmas in February! So excited to be shooting Holiday for Heroes. And this guy’s (Blucas) pretty rad, too.” Egan describes her character, Audrey, as a hard worker who “owns a little coffee shop with her best friend, Jade.”

Young And The Restless News – Audrey Writes Love Letters To Matt Evans

“She starts writing love letters to First Sergeant Matt Evans,” she said. Their correspondence, which eventually leads to a face to face meeting, starts after Audrey sends a coffee to Matt and he sends back a thank you note.

“Audrey and Matt’s relationship is really special because they got to know each other through letters and they got to know each other as people, as human beings, before they ever met face to face,” Egan explained.

On “The Young and the Restless,” Chelsea Newman may finally put an end to the love triangle between her, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Spoilers reveal certain situations will force her to make a choice between the two brothers.

Young And The Restless News – Head Writer Teased Upcoming Love Triangle

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, the show’s head writer, Josh Griffith, teased the love triangle storyline this coming fall.

He dropped some clues as to what viewers can expect. He said Chelsea will be caught in the middle as Nick and Adam’s feud continues. Adam will do things that will remind Chelsea of his dark side. The return of Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) has made matters even more complicated.
