Young And The Restless Ratings Sink To All Time Low

It looks like viewers of the Young and the Restless (Y&R) are tuning out more than they are tuning in. Just after reports indicated that the CBS soap had celebrated an all-time high in the ratings not too long ago, there’s a new report that says the Y&R has now sunk to a new all-time low. Here’s what you need to know.
Reports say that the Y&R lost a whopping 760,000 viewers, compared to the ratings report from this time last year. The soap hit an all-time low with just 3.5 million views. This comes as a surprise for many viewers who have made it no secret that they’ve enjoyed the new storylines and the return of so many beloved characters.
And while ratings has been off all across the board for all four soaps, The Young and the Restless literally dropped out of the ratings.
Young And The Restless News – Many Fans Are Blaming Boring Storylines
Many are even speculating that the soap might be in serious trouble if something isn’t done fast. Two years ago, the Y&R was headed towards a steady 4.8 million viewers by the end of 2017.
With the return of Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) and even an occasional appearance from Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), things were looking pretty positive for a while.
But it appears as though fans are just not interested between the ongoing custody battle between Adam and his brother Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Lola Rosales’ (Sasha Calle) romance and everything that is going on in Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) life right now.
Young And The Restless News – Ratings Are Down For All The Daytime Soaps
Y&R producers aren’t the only ones shaking in their designer boots and heels. Their sister soap the Bold and the Beautiful also lost about 400,000 viewers while General Hospital is down by 300,000. Things are also looking bad at NBC’s Days of Our Lives, as they lost 200,000 viewers as well.

So far producers and the Young and the Restless writers have not made any comments about the drop in ratings but we have a feeling that they are wasting no time in scribbling up some new and exciting storylines!

I’m not surprised , the stories just aren’t as good or interesting enough . It seems there is just a merry go round of bed hopping with the same people , no happy couples for more than 5 minutes , no glam functions , no development of mystery – besides mentally off characters. This needs to go in a different direction other than the above opinion .Many have watched this show from the beginning and are disappointed as of late. Sign of the times we live in ? Love Y&R and watch every day , yes it ‘s entertainment , but we want to view as it once was – a top soap !!

You are right, this is why the drop in viewership. They need to clarify that. Will agree, still to much of the same bedhopping and back off of Adam. Not really into the Tessa storyline. Devon is nice, but always a boring storyline.

on 2013 the ratings are going down fast. Make Adam a nice guy again after he fights the
hypocrite Newman’s its time for him to take them down and see how it feels when he
first came back, this includes the fan’s too, with so much hatred on one guy.

The only reason it is dropping is because DirecTV has dropped channel 31 which it is on.!! So I have been unable to watch it n I am sure that many more in the same situation!! Very maddening!! Please if u can help them resolve this problem that would be great!!
No, I’m not surprised that the ratings for Y&R tanked. The show made a huge mistake pushing Kola as some epic romance and trying force people to like them. Not only did they try to force people to like Kola, but they tried to destroy the years long friendship, love and romance between two legacy kids (Summer and Kyle). The show lost over 300,000 viewers in a single day when Kola first slept together. Lots of people in the real world HATE Kola but Y&R just kept trying to force them on the audience so the audience tuned out. Not surprising at all.
Kat , I have Direct TV and was ” mad as a wet hen ”when they took out CBS ( channel 5 for me in San Fran. ) I watched it a day late at 6 am on the ” Pop ” channel then about 2 weeks ago CBS and Direct TV came to an agreement and now I get my CBS back – GREED . I ‘m glad I waited to make any changes to my cable provider . I am very sure the viewership has hit rock bottom because of it . It is a crying shame these big corps. are all about the buck and the viewers get screwed because of it . I’m sorry to all that can’t watch your fav’s , the TV business is ”big money ” business and affects us ALL !
It because y&r let go of gina who played Phyllis and girl who played his wife and sister and there stories are recycled especially with Nick and Sharon there story is old.

I’m with you. They are as boring as watching paint dry. Especially since Abby has resigned herself somewhat to the relationship. The writer’s act like they don’t live in the real world. I can write better drama than that. I yell at the screen… Say…. blah blah blah ! Do….this that and the other. The PTB got rid of all the controversial characters that made the story interesting.
The “new” actually the old Phyllis is so overacting it is disgusting….enough to shut the set! Storylines getting stupider and stupider!
get Gina T back to play Phyllis. She played Phyllis with depth and believability.
Not at all am I surprise of the low ratings. Why bring Adam back. Especially this Adam. I also said it was a big mistake. Because of the storylines I have not watched Y&R in many weeks. And I have watched Y &R from its very first day. But this is absolutely the worse I have ever seen. Characters leave, die and you bring them all back. Doesn’t make sense. Repeating is boring.
Now That Lola and Kyle are married all you see them doing is sexing it up in bed or eating each other‘s faces off . To add some so-called excitement or just some filler, they gave her a Michelin star. Lmao
And please keep Kyle and Lola on a very long long honeymoon without showing them in bed.
Yes its kinda boring and they take to long to get to the point on story’s like what’s with billy ? Ot would be great if for some strange reason deliah came back to life everyone else is returning from the dead or maybe keep a couple for longer than one month try bringing cricket back and to be happy she is always uptight with her job change things up ! Just a few ideas for ya.
MICHAEL MUHNEY – like in Pretty Woman – BIG BIG MISTAKE – thats all they needed to do -plop him into the storylines and you get greatness! chemistry! Fire and Ice!
The whole storyline of Kyle, Lola, the guy and girl from when Kyle was is NY is going nowhere for me. Boring. Bringing Chelsea’s husband in to have him die was stupid. Rey is just a bore without Mia. Mia brought excitement to the story. Nate is boring. Devon is boring. The lesbians are boring. The only exciting storylines are Adam, Nick, Phyllis, Abby w/Phyllis, & Billy. And I hate how everyone in town is against Adam. And what happened to Victor being sick? He looks as healthy as a horse. I thought the story was headed toward Adam being the only one to save his life. After the way Victor has treated Adam, I’d let his old ass die. LOL

Y&R didn’t need to bring a politically correct gay storyline withTessa and Mariah, I fast forward through that storyline. It’s boring. I’d also fast forward through Tessa’s singing, it’s irritating, she sounds like a squeak toy.
Yeah that storyline is a drag, she is irritating with her pride acting all pure and her prudness and righteousness. Would like to see her get back into her food truck and drive out of the storyline for good.

Yep, not only is Nate boring, his status as a doctor is unrealistic, treats everyone, seems to be a multi-specislist, can do.anything even organ transplants. The Victor/Nikki, Devon and Tessa/Mariah storylines and the Kyle/Lola storyline is nausiating.

the cable companies are all about greed. I don’t have cable. I have IPTV and it’s so cheap and I can see all stations worldwide for 10.00 a month. IPTV Smarters. Look them up.
