Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) cares deeply about Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. His feelings are sincere. But he never expected to encounter Hilary Hamilton’s (Mishael Morgan’s initial role on Y&R) spitting image in the form of Amanda Sinclair (Morgan’s new role), which has already created a potential financial mess.
Surely, the inevitable will happen. Soap fans can sense the endgame storyline, similar to a reverse whodunit mystery where the climax is presented at the start of the flick, or television show. The intrigue in this instances lies in how Y&R will write Devon and Amanda together, rather than if that will happen.
Yes, this can and should take time. But Morgan and James exhibited such dynamic on-screen chemistry during Morgan’s first tenure, that it would seem unthinkable to not pair these strong actors again.

Fans took note that Amanda wasn’t aware that she was being used for her appearance sake before arriving in Genoa City, Wisconsin. Whoever she phoned, regarding the resemblance issue, either hasn’t gotten back in touch, or explained the matter away.
A long storyline could be presented where Amanda pursues her biological background. The easy answer would have the departed Rose Turner (Leslie Stevens) having given up one of her twins for adoption, with Amanda likely never knowing that happened. Hilary may not have known either.
However, if the above proves true, then Amanda will likely need to piece together her back story, probably with Devon’s help. His realization of this projected truth would serve to sway his take on Amanda, as she wouldn’t be a random stranger who just happened to look like Hilary. The implications for romance would develop along the way, or as a result.

Devon isn’t the type of person to quickly discard Elena, if Amanda does prove to become his next romantic pursuit. He would surely endure momentous emotional strife if there is a shifting from Elena to Amanda.
‘Delena’ took a lot of work to create. Devon’s sister, Ana Hamilton (Loren Lott), and Elena’s uncle, Jett Slade (Gilbert Glenn Brown), were both written out of the story so that this couple could be alone and then fully form.
Splitting Devon and Elena isn’t something either party wants right now. Marriage and children are current probables instead. So, Elena’s importance will weigh heavily on Devon’s mind and heart if ‘Demanda’ emerges.

Viewers would be right to think that the challenge to Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) must be resolved, or at least play out for a certain period of time, before Y&R would veer toward this new pairing.

Having Hilary’s look-a-like, or likely identical twin sister, front the legal pursuit of Devon’s fortune, that he apparently inherited from his grandmother, creates a classic daytime conflict and seeming eventual couple.

Don’t want to see Devon with Amanda, that would just say he just loved Hillary’s looks and not her spirit. I don’t think Devon is that shallow and should not change his character now just to suit this boring story. I skip the Devon, Amanda scenes now because they are just not interesting.
The other thing I don’t like is with the exception of Abby there appears to be one story for people of colour and another for the whites, I would like to see the stories more integrated.

From what I have seen from the time that Amanda was introduced, Devon was interested in her. I don’t think that it was her looks but the charm that she had that was like Hillary. I have also noticed that Nate and Elena are always being together for coffee, etc. They seem to be a better fix than Devon and Elena. Devon and Elena just does not fit. I think that Elena was just a filler for Devon’s emotional needs.
Nick is partnered with Devon on various projects. Rey is part of the police force & is on/off with Sharon. Lola is married to Kyle & works at Society. Lily is married to Cane & has had his children. What story isn’t integrated?! You’re SO full of it!!

No, it’s NOT “inevitable”, and No, nobody who watches wants them to be a couple… I do NOT want Devon with Amanda!!! What a tired re-tread of a bad story that would be!!! NO!! She needs to LEAVE town!!! If they’re forcing us to watch her, I think Amanda should be with Nate, even tho they’re trying to push Nate with Elena. I’d rather Amanda just get out of Genoa City altogether!
