Young and the Restless Cast News – Eric Braeden Is Making Demands

In a recent post on Twitter, Braeden made some demands of the powers that be at The Young and The Restless; he posted as follows: “Two good friends are no longer on the show, KRISTOFF,(Kristoff St. John) who passed away, and DANIEL GODDARD, who is a damned good actor and SHOULD BE WITH US!!!” Braeden posted on Twitter this week. “Miss them both, along with DOUGIE DAVIDSON, who isn’t on the show ENOUGH!!! @DanielGoddard, @DougDavidsonYR.”

The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Doug Davidson Has Been With The Young And The Restless Since 1978

Longtime viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall Paul Williams was introduced to the show on May 23, 1978, two years earlier than Braeden himself, and has been portrayed by Doug Davidson ever since. Initially Paul was a “bad boy”, who had a romance with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), giving her an STD. The relationship ultimately ended, but the two have remained friends since.

After a year on the series, William J. Bell gave the character a proper backstory, surname and family. This included his notoriously unstable sister Patty Williams (Stacey Haiduk). After a failed marriage to April Stevens (Cynthia Eilbacher)—who gave birth to his daughter Heather Stevens (Jennifer Landon), —, focus turned towards Paul’s career as a private investigator, as well as his relationship and eventual marriage to and later divorce from Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman).

Paul’s string of unsuccessful romances with women—including his ill-fated bride Cindy Lake (DeAnna Robbins), and Cassandra Rawlins (Nina Arvesen), the wife of one of his clients—continued. Over the years, Paul continued to become heavily involved in various storylines as a private investigator. He finally found Miss Right in Christine “Cricket” Blair (Lauralee Bell) who he married in 1996.

Y&R Comings And Goings – Daniel Goddard Was Written Out In 2019

Daniel Goddard, who had played Cane Ashby since January 2007, was written out of the show in 2019, when he posted the following on Instagram: “It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that I will no longer be part of the cast of the Young and the Restless. I am as shocked and gutted as you are… I almost didn’t post but I felt that the most loyal & loving fans an actor could wish for deserved to know and watch the last story arc knowing the rich meaning behind it. I am forever grateful for the 13 years I have been a part of the Y&R family… but sadly it seems that without Neil and Lily there just is no Cane.”

Kristoff St. John had played Neil Winters, and Christel Khalil just returned to the show as Lily Winters, Cane’s ex-wife, and had been recruited to run the new Chancellor Media company by Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) along with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Goddard also appreciated Braeden’s sentiments and sent him a shout out on Twitter. “My dear friend @EBraeden I miss u & #YR so very, very much. My sincerest respect to u always.”

Of course, everything as far as returning cast members or underused cast members being used more remains uncertain at The Young and The Restless for now, until production is allowed to resume. No, and who really cares what he thinks? I’d be thrilled if they killed him off.

No, to bringing Cane back. Never liked him. Too slick acting.

Yes, I believe we should be seeing more of Doug Davidson and also his character should be given more sensible storylines. I don’t however believe Eric Breaden should keep getting on social media and making public demands regarding the show, it’s not professional. One of the reasons I love actor who plays Jack partly because he is professional. If he has opinions about the show he must be discussing them in private with the EPs as a professional should be. I believe it’s uncouth or EB to drag fans into his personal interests. A fan, like myself makes a comment and some fans may agree with me, but it’s a different matter altogether for someone to use their popularity or status to manipulate the shows decisions. EB should concentrate on his lines and acting, it could certainly use the extra attention.
