Young and the Restless Spoilers Friday January 31: Phyllis Learns Sharon Is Sick, Rey Asks Paul For Help, and Mariah Meets An Old Friend

The Young and the Restless spoilers for Friday January 31st indicates that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) learns Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) has a health crisis, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) asks Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) for a request, and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) runs into an old friend.

Young and the Restless Spoilers – Sharon’s first day of treatment

At Sharon’s house, everyone gathers for support as she’s preparing for her first day of treatment. She explains to Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) the procedure where she’ll have a port installed for chemo. Mariah offers to take Sharon to the doctor, but Sharon says Rey’s taking her.

Sharon thanks Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) for his help, and keeping this quiet. Sharon receives a call from Noah Newman (Robert Atkinson) and talks to him for a little while. She then says goodbye Nick and Faith as she and Rey prepare to leave.

After treatment, Sharon arrives at Crimson Lights to work, and this worries Rey. She assures him she’s fine and the procedure wasn’t that big of a deal.

Phyllis comes in as Rey exits. He’s out on the patio and calls someone asking if they’re free to talk. Meanwhile, inside Phyllis spots Sharon’s bandage and asks if that’s because of a tattoo. Sharon sarcastically responds that it’s a tattoo of Rey’s badge number. As Phyllis is at the counter getting a refill, Faith comes in. When Faith asks how Sharon’s procedure went, Sharon motions for her daughter to be quiet. Phyllis returns to her table and texts Chance about going on another date.

Nick comes in and joins Sharon and Faith, then asks how Sharon’s doing. Phyllis watches them and continues to stare at Sharon’s bandage. When Nick joins Phyllis, she mentions that she knows about Sharon’s health problem. Nick’s stunned expression proves that Phyllis’ hunch is right. Nick claims Sharon’s fine, but Phyllis comments this is more serious than she thought. Nick tells Phyllis she doesn’t know anything, then suggest she leaves. As Phyllis is leaving, she stops to glance at Sharon. An angry Sharon then confronts Nick about telling Phyllis. Nick says that Phyllis figured everything out on her own. Faith tries to calm her mother, while Nick says that Phyllis is a good person and won’t tell anybody. Sharon responds that Nick better make sure Phyllis doesn’t say a word.

Young and the Restless Spoilers – Chance makes a decision

At the Grand Phoenix, Phyllis watches as Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) flirt. She interrupts their conversation to tell Chance that last night was amazing. After Phyllis leaves, Chance reassures Abby that nothing happened with Phyllis. Abby believes him. Chance then asks how far Abby’s willing to take their relationship. Abby admits she likes him, but understands if he wants to be with Phyllis. Chance tells Abby he’s made his decision, and he wants to be with her, not Phyllis. The two then celebrate with a kiss.

Later Chance steps away to take a phone call, and he learns from the caller that the woman is asking questions. He orders the caller to keep tabs on her. When Phyllis comes in, Abby flaunts to Phyllis that Chance has chosen her. Phyllis ignores her and tries to walk away, but Abby wants to know what’s going on. Phyllis asks Abby to leave her alone, she got Chance and that’s all that matters. Abby continues to egg Phyllis on about Chance. An annoyed Phyllis shouts she’s not interested in Chance and there’s more important things in life. After Phyllis’ rant, she breaks down in tears. Abby suspects something’s up with Phyllis and says the truth is going to come out.

Young and the Restless Spoilers – Mariah’s old friend

Mariah is at Society, sitting at the bar and making a call to Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks). After she hangs up, Mariah looks up at the waitress and recognizes her. She asks Lindsay (Kirby Bliss Blanton) what she’s doing here. The two greet each other, then it’s revealed they know each other from a club called Matchbox. The two women continue to chat and Mariah mentions her girlfriend Tessa is on tour. As Lindsay listens, she suspects Mariah’s hiding something, and Mariah replies that everything’s complicated.

Meanwhile, Tessa is asleep on the jet. When she wakes up, she finds Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman) strumming his guitar. Tessa makes a comment about how her fantasy she’s living now is better than any dream. The two start playing guitar and singing. As they’re performing, they’re looking at each other and smiling. After their song, they start chatting and Tanner mentions his girlfriend is the total opposite of Tessa.

Back at Society, Mariah mentions she’s keeping someone’s secret and Lindsay says it’s best to keep the person safe although it’s going to be tough. Later Mariah sends a text to Tessa, but Tanner responds that Tessa’s busy with the soundcheck. Lindsay notices the solemn expression on Mariah’s face and asks what’s wrong. Mariah tells her about Tanner responding to her text to Tessa. Lindsay brings up how wild the music scene can be with parties and random hook ups. Mariah says she’s not worried about Tessa, she just misses her. Lindsay mentions that Tessa’s living her life, and it’s time Mariah does the same.

Young and the Restless Spoilers – Rey’s request

Rey meets Paul at Society and asks if there’s any way he can lighten Rey’s workload. Paul suspects something’s going on and asks if Rey’s going to confide in him, but Rey says he can’t share any details. Paul says that he understands family comes first, and promises not to say a word.
