When Adam was last seen on The Young and the Restless, he was played by Justin Hartley. In September 2016, Hartley left the soap opera when he was cast as Kevin Pearson on the hit NBC show This Is Us. When Hartley departed the role, Adam was “killed” off in a cabin explosion. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from believing that he’s alive.
The current storyline with someone stalking the women over JT’s (Thad Luckinbill) death has fans convinced that Adam is behind the plot. Rumors are that Y&R wants to have Adam back on the show and it looks like Mr. Newman is coming back to Genoa City with a vengeance. So will Justin Hartley be reprising the role?

Hartley is busy filming This Is Us, but it could be possible that NBC allows him to go back to the CBS soap opera.
In the past, we’ve seen big named celebrities come back to their soap opera roots. In 2010, Julianne Moore briefly returned to her role as Frannie Hughes on As the World Turns. Also, Shemar Moore has came back for appearances as Malcolm on Y&R.
It is a possibility that Justin Hartley could return to the role of Adam, and many fans would prefer Hartley in the role instead of using another actor and giving the excuse that Adam had plastic surgery.

Young And The Restless Spoiler – Adam Newman Back From The Dead?
Yet, there is the question of how long Adam will be on the show. Before Adam was killed off, he was planning to go on the run with his wife Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and their son Connor. But with Chelsea no longer in Genoa City, that gives the impression that Adam may not be around for long.
If it’s a short-term stay, Justin Hartley could pull double duty on both shows. However, a long-term stay may not be possible for the actor.

I don’t at this point care who would play the part just bring the character back Michael M would be a good choice though.
No he would come do a drop in and out he place a tv show he loves it.
Obviously, Michael Muhney. He’s the only Adam Newman. Y&R would experience a huge ratings surge if they would let bygones be bygones and just sign Michael Muhney to a contract. The viewers want him back..! (RIP Kristoff – you’ll be greatly missed.)
If I wanted to see Justin Hartley, I would watch “This is Us”. I watched the pilot and haven’t watched the show since. The back and forth with the time line. I realized it was 1979, when I realized they were showing about the hostages in Iran, at the time.
I don’t think he would come back to daytime, the money is higher in primetime.

I doubt he would come back, if he did it would only be for a minute and then he would be gone again. I would like Adam to return and stay this time but how are they going to explain his long absence this time, he was in a cabin that exploded after all, it would mean that Chloe had to have stashed him somewhere and that would be a bag full of a mess for whoever has been looking after him where ever he is, now maybe that’s where Victor was when he was M.I.A there for awhile. But why would he be after all the girls, he didn’t have any ill feelings towards any of them that I recall, naturally he has always had it in for Victor, and maybe Nick after the whole Chelsea relationship but who knows. I really don’t want J.T to come back, wasn’t really interested in him, and if they did bring him back to stay they could always use his illness to explain his anger and physical outbursts towards Vikki then do a little surgery and he is fixed. I just don’t understand why Victor hasn’t bothered to check his own securtity tapes as it would surely show who has been wandering around the mansion, but they haven’t even shown Victor checking on the cameras in the house, why they make him the super smart one for some stories then make him totally clueless when it comes to someone practically living in the walls of his precious house.

Yes he was a good actor. Adam and Chelsea was great together. They kept thing exciting together. The love the had for each other
Bring back Michael Muhney, the best Adam IMHO. The interaction with Victor and other Newman’s can be dynamic. Set him back up with Sharon and watch the sparks fly! Just say the role of Adam is now being played by Michael Muhney, no further explanation is necessary. (Forget Hartley as he was only a pretender.)
