The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) was wise to Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) initial underhanded move. His attempt to slip a smear artist into the company, under the tag of a content manager, was recognized by the person Jill Atkinson Abbott (Jess Walton) specifically tapped to be a Billy-blocker.

Walton’s character knows her son better than anyone. He not only sabotages his own life, but also others, including colleagues. So, Lily’s presence in Chancellor Industries’ new media division has already been proven to be wise.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Equal Heads Of The Division

Billy wasn’t interested in his mother’s offer when she initially made it. But upon further reflection, he thought that heading CI’s new venture would be an exciting challenge. Then, Lily walked into the Chancellor mansion and was introduced as his co-equal partner.

Installing Lily as a counterbalance to Billy gave the media division a chance to get off the ground. While Billy has business experience, it’s sporadic, including his time at Jabot and Restless Style.

Lily’s side-by-side placement with Billy means that she’ll be a counterbalance to his impulse decisions. Khalil’s character will also serve as Jill’s eyes and ears.

Y&R Spoilers – Villy’s Demolition Proof That All Isn’t Right

Billy was actually on good-footing prior to Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) latest comeback. That specific event triggered Jill’s son, ripping the scar that eventually formed over a portion of his mind after Delia Abbott (Sophia Pollono) was taken from this life.

Jill has long been Villy’s champion. But even she recognized that Vickie Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Billy were done, or at least were over for an extended period of time.

With no stable relationship to keep him steady, Jill’s business plan makes sense. Give Billy something that’s both creative and meaty to direct his energies in a positive direction.

Young and the Restless Spoilers – Lily Winters Needs To Watch Herself

Lily could easily be sucked into Billy’s well, where her life, even if only in the workplace, goes haywire. Thompson’s character has a way of disrupting the worlds of those he claims to care about, which does include his friend Lily.

It’s always great to see Khalil return to the cast. This appears to be a chance for her to work in an extended storyline, with Lily remaining in Genoa City, Wisconsin. Here’s hoping that as she does Billy doesn’t create an unhealthy rivalry, as Lily’s been through too much within the last year-plus.
