Young and the Restless Spoilers: Michael Baldwin Playing Dangerous Game – Nick Newman Suffers Because Of It

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) fully intended on helping Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) legally beat Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). But then Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) put himself in another bind and Michael had to rescue him.

The custody case looks bleak now that Michael has recused himself from the hearing. So, rather than throw the case he’ll simply remove himself from Nick’s defense.

Morrow’s character is totally thrown by what happens, as he knows that a sharp shark like Michael is needed to at least give him a chance of countering Adam’s biology power. Christian Newman’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigan) father isn’t Nick, he’s an uncle.

Nick’s plan was to have Michael savage Adam’s character, based upon the most recent acts he’s taken. Past history could be explained away. But hitting hard at how Adam has treated family members since returning from Las Vegas, Nevada, is a plausible pathway forward, or at least it seemed to be.

Past buzz about Jessica Collins (Avery Bailey Clark) possibly returning to the cast could prove out considering what’s developing. If Michael stays on the sidelines, as a trade for Adam releasing his hold on Kevin’s life, along with Chloe Mitchell’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Bella Mitchell’s (as last played by Cali May Kinder), then Nick will need someone to represent his side.

Avery is super smart, fights hard, and knows the players. So, she conceivably makes an excellent fallback option.

Michael’s planned wait for Adam in the penthouse led to this forced bargain. Attorney Baldwin believed that Adam was simply applying pressure to Kevin in order to get to him. So, Michael told the middle man, his brother, to butt out and he did.

Sure, Michael could have applied the same plan that Kevin was going to use. Take the compromising photos of the custody hearing judge and use them against Adam. But as Michael told Kevin, if that happened, Adam would simply out Chloe’s existence and she would go to jail.

Kevin believed that he was ahead of the game in having Chloe, Bella, and Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) move from their current location. But Adam’s recent tell to Kevin about Chloe’s last known address obviously implies that his henchmen could find her again.

Michael wants to protect the entire Khloe family, while also neutralizing Adam. Y&R fans know that this particular lawyer is both cunning and resilient. So possibly Michael will work with whoever Nick’s new lawyer will be, or use another angle shortly to make sure Adam is paid back.
