The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Summer Newman (Hunter King) was candid with her detested stepsister, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). While it didn’t initially seem like a worthwhile effort, Summer was open to the help Mariah eventually offered.
The issue is Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) increasing tensions with Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson). Summer believes that a physical fight will happen if Kyle doesn’t change his attitude.
Mariah’s snark came out when she said that Summer would rather have both cousins fighting over her. Ironically, Theo told King’s character the same thing days earlier. However, Summer’s concerns are real and her prediction appears likely to play out.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Long Past Snowflake Tag
Summer has come a long way since she left town during the mid-part of the last decade. King dropped to recurring contract status at that time due to her role in the nighttime comedy, Life In Pieces. That likable show had a four-year run (2015 through 2019), which now allows King to once again hold regular contract status with Y&R.
Mariah’s one-time tag of Summer as a snowflake happened before King’s character was gone for an extended period, later returning sporting a reckless demeanor. It took a long time and the loss of Kyle for Summer to drop that mask.
Donating half of her liver to Lola Abbott (Sasha Calle) was the start of Summer’s return to normalcy. She’s no longer the naive personal Mariah believed her to be, or the me-first trouble-maker that disrupted many people’s lives.

Y&R Spoilers – Tummer Wasn’t A Long-term Fix
Summer and Theo got together because of their mutual interests and availability. As viewers recall, Theo was actually very respectful in waiting until Kyle had clearly moved past Summer before he got involved with her romantically.
Later, Lola’s capture of Kyle’s heart was mixed with Theo’s drive for vengeance against his one-time New York friend. Then, Johnson’s character learned that he was Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) grandson, which dramatically upped the angst between Theo and Kyle.
Theo decided to drop Summer shortly after she misinterpreted his desire to live together, offering a flat no. That left both characters open for other pursuits, which in Theo’s case inflamed his desire to pursue something with Lola.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Kola’s Internal Distrust Growing
Kyle has consistently warned his wife that Theo is after her. She’s disagreed, trying to impress upon her husband that he is her sole focus.
It is unsettling to see Lola’s fondness for Theo potentially developing into something deeper. Kyle perceived jealousy within his wife’s mind when she thought Theo had a date with him at Society. Lola staunchly denied it, but viewers were allowed to see Lola’s additional out-of-place reaction before Kyle arrived.
Summer’s concern is real and right. Whether Mariah can help Kyle’s attitude to shift remains to be seen. Like his cousin, he’s stubborn.
So, Kyle’s protection of his marriage and Theo’s desire to create trouble are primed to lead to the predicted clash Summer is trying to prevent.
