In the last few days the teasing and jostling for position has intensified between Kyle Abbott and Theo Vanderway. Each wants to be top dog at Jabot, and with the ladies. But mostly, these two frenemies want to prove that the other is a pale imitation.

The irony is that they were once besties, like two frat boy peas in a pod. After Theo showed up in Genoa City, Kyle had settled with Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) and wasn’t into the late nights and bar hopping. Kyle teased him but seemed to secretly envy Kyle’s relationship with Lola.  Now the situations are reversed, and Theo has a shot at winning Lola’s heart.

But is Theo interested in Lola merely to get back at Kyle? At first it appeared that way, but after a few earnest talks with Lola, fans were convinced the bad boy had a good heart.

Not so fast! After Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) upbraided him for resenting Kyle and his life, Theo appeared to set Lola up by asking her out. Afterward he had a smug smirk on his face, and it was hard to tell if he was smiling with pleasure or plotting a mean scheme.

The Young and the Restless spoilers – Should Kendra be worried about what Kyle has planned?

Throwing further doubt on Theo’s intentions is his pursuit of Jabot office worker Kendra, who he ran into after she has just been dissed by Kyle. Noticing her upset, Theo offers to take her for a drink and then looks at the back of Kyle’s head like he’d like to give him a lobotomy with a letter opener.

What is Theo planning? A little motivational speech about turning lemons into lemonade? Or something much more sinister like plotting against Kyle and leaving Kendra to take the fall? Be sure to tune in and find out!
