The Young and the Restless spoilers for Thursday August 2nd indicate that Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) receives good news about her music career, while Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) questions her new relationship, and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) issues a warning.
Young and the Restless Spoilers – Sharon is warned about Adam
During a mother/daughter discussion at Crimson Lights, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) confesses to her daughter Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) that she and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) broke up. Sharon reveals Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is the reason for her and Rey’s break up. Mariah sides with Rey and tells Sharon she needs to distance herself from Adam.
Later Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) stops by Sharon’s home to check on her and asks about the break up. Sharon admits it’s her fault for the split. She then refuses Lola’s offer to talk to Rey, and says that Lola should concentrate on the wedding.
Sharon runs into Nick later at Chancellor Park, where they argue about Adam. Nick warns Sharon that Adam is a dangerous person; he also says that eventually she’ll have to choose whether to side with Adam or everyone else.
Young and the Restless Spoilers – Nick’s new business deal
Nick meets with a designer at Society where they discuss plans, after their meeting Nick goes to see Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). Nick discusses a proposal for New Hope, an affordable housing development. Devon agrees to the new deal and feels that his father Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) would be proud of him. Talk then turns to the custody case, and Nick says he wants to be a good man for his son Christian Newman (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen).
When Nick returns home, he calls Christian to tell his son that he loves him and that it’ll only be a matter of time before he comes home.
Young and the Restless Spoilers – Mariah and Tessa’s celebration
At Society, Tessa and Lola have a chat about how well they’re doing in their professional careers. Lola then tells Tessa that Mariah has ordered a special dinner complete with champagne. Later Mariah joins Tessa at dinner where she informs her that her music video has hit one million likes. As the two celebrate, Lola comes by the table and learns from Mariah that Rey broke up with Sharon.
After Lola leaves, Tessa and Mariah discuss the next phase in her music career. Mariah informs her that there’s other singers who want to work with her.
Young and the Restless Spoilers – Problems for Nate and Abby
Abby and Nate (Sean Dominic) are having dinner at his penthouse when Nate invites Abby to join him on a trip to the Grand Canyon. Abby says she has a lot of work going on at Society, then informs Nate they aren’t in a committed relationship. Abby says they’re just having fun and doesn’t want to make it more serious than what it is, then leaves for work.

At Devon’s home, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) is leaving for work when Devon surprises her with an autographed book from her favorite author. After she leaves for work, Nate stops by to discuss his relationship issues with Abby. Devon reassures him that everything will work out in time. As they’re having their discussion, Elena comes home from work in tears over a patient that died. Nate offers Elena advice on how to deal with the situation. Elena thanks him for his help, then he leaves.
At Society, Abby is trying to work, but becomes annoyed when Lola asks about her and Nate’s dinner. Talk turns to the difficulties of being in a relationship. Later Abby texts Nate to say they had a great night together, but to just leave it at that.

I’m just not a fan of them as a couple . Love sweet Abby, but they don’t have much chemistry . They both need other partners – maybe Scott needs to come back – he couldn’t leave her alone !! ( there’s another one that bite the dust with Sharon )
Nate & Abby is a NO. Devon & Abby maybe yes.. Nate & Elana possibly yes. Definitely not Abby & Nate.
Abby deserves better. So does Devon.

I definitely hope not. I do not know why as a couple Nate and Abby do nothing for me as a viewer/fan. To me they have no chemistry between them and all love scenes look rehearsed and stiff. Like the last one in Nate’s apartment, it was the music that was hot and heavy but not the couple themselves. Apologies to all Nabby fans.
Someone new and dynamic would be the greatest for Abby who deserves a more dynamic, energetic, handsome, virile, business savy, sexy man to be her partner. Now that the deal between Phyllis and her would be null and void I am assuming because the wrong Grand Phoenix hotel is what she truly owns in Detroit and not the one in Genoa City, Abby will have to look for a new partner. In walks the new “hunk”….he has his own chain of restaurant/bars, and was going to check out the Grand Phoenix location in Genoa City to give some serious competition to “Society” It would be great to see them competing and see who gets it and wins. Win/win they fall for each other and a new love story line begins?

K, now Nate. No offense to this actor but I truly liked the previous Nate. Much more handsome. I see that some folks have said that pair Nate with Elena. I don’t know as I am now seeing a good connection with Devon and Elena. Someone else then please..another female doctor or nurse. But I do see what the other posters have seen..because they both share the same medical background.
I’ve watched the y & r with my mother and then on my own for years. The storylines are too dark. Too much vengeance. I would love to see it get more wholesome. The things Tessa has done are ridiculous and she’s still on the show. Lola’s acting is very unbelievable. I live the regulars but the last year has been horrible, unfortunately. I switched to B & B. The storyline of Liam -Hope-Steffy baby Beth is amazing. I love Brooke, Ridge, Bill- the whole cast- they’re so lovable!
