The Young and the Restless – Nick Newman Initially Didn’t Want To Get Sucked Back Into The Newman Corporate Culture

Nick initially didn’t want to get sucked back into the Newman corporate culture, but during his misspent night with his ex-wife Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) in which they wound up engaging in “sex with the ex” she had asked him if he could live with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) getting the CEO position – of course, it’s only temporary, filling in for Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) while she recovers from the stabbing she had suffered at the Newman Gala, but Phyllis thought Adam would trash Victor’s company – not that she would mind that happening, but she thought that if Nick took the temporary CEO position, it might prevent a bloodbath at Newman!

Y&R Spoilers – Adam Newman And Victor Newman Are At The Newman Ranch

Adam and Victor are at the Newman Ranch, where Adam, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) had stayed the night due to the severe ice storm. Two large trees had fallen at the ranch and blocked the driveway so they could not have left and gone back home to Adam’s penthouse if they had wanted to!

As Adam and Victor are talking about Connor having been frightened of the trees falling and discussing Victor having told Connor to toughen up, Nick calls and tells Victor that since the CEO job is temporary, he’s decided to take it anyway. Adam had offered to do the job but Victor had not decided to give it to him as of when Nick called, and Adam becomes rather irate when Victor gives Nick the job instead of him!

Adam is not only offended, but hurt, and rants that Nick only took the job so that Adam couldn’t have it. He accuses his father of playing him, and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Chelsea walk in as Adam warns Victor that this may be a conflict that they will not be able to work through and come back from!

The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Nikki Newman Talks To Victor Newman While Chelsea Lawson Talks To Adam Newman

Nikki talks to Victor and asks him about his decision to put Nick on the CEO position – and if he had been going to hire Adam for it. Victor said he would have put Adam in the CEO seat had Nick not called and taken it, but that he only took it because it was temporary. Nick was Victor’s first choice, however.

After they get home, Chelsea tries to encourage an angry and discouraged Adam. He wants to go back to Kansas, but Chelsea tells him she knows she’ll want revenge on Victor for this – and she fully intends to help him get it!
