Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: How Do Chance Chancellor And Adam Newman REALLY Know Each Other?

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) has been onto them for months on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Viewers weren’t shown the shot. But she spotted Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) together in Las Vegas, Nevada, as Y&R was rolling out its retro recast, where Stafford reprised her iconic role when taking over for Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) earlier this year.

Digitally skipping to November Sweeps, the Chance recast happened. Boaz replaced John Driscoll (Chance), who departed the cast in 2011. Along with the the latest Adam recast, quite the cast revamp has occurred.

Lingering questions are yet to be answered about why Adam and Chance were together in Vegas. Phyllis still doesn’t know, which puts her with the audience.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – A Random Meeting In Vegas

Heading this section by writing a chance meeting was an initial thought. Okay, so did Adam and Chance randomly meet in Vegas?

Chance said he was trailing Simon Black (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) for years. That means he’s been working for the government since leaving GC during the early part of this decade, or he could have taken a break and got back on the bureaucracy horse after meeting Adam.

In either instance, Chance would surely have felt compelled to report his existence since he was believed to be dead. Savvy viewers also understand that the 2014 face-change Adam underwent could have cloaked his identity initially. But it seems unlikely that Chance didn’t know who he was when they met, whenever that was.

The above does make it possible that Adam and Chance had some type of personal connection that may have been related to a one-off meeting where one helped the other out of a scrape. Possibly this link involved drama with a lady as well.

Y&R  Spoilers – Spider Became A Government Operative

It’s plausible to believe that Adam helped Chance on a sting operation, or some other sort of government take-down. The character Grossman is now playing genuinely didn’t recall his own identity after the cabin blast. A recant of that apparent fact could greatly undermine storyline credibility.

So, assuming Adam actually believed he was ‘Spider’ allows for the possibility that he worked for the government, though not necessarily Chance. Yet, if that was true and Adam and Chance eventually met, why didn’t Mr. Chancellor recognize Adam, as was noted above?

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Was Also Part Of The Witness Protection Program

Chance was entering the Witness Protection Program when he was last seen in 2011. Maybe Adam was placed in that program as well with Chance being his handler?

The details about Adam’s cabin blast survival, ride on a freight train that was heading west, and life in Vegas as ‘Spider’ were purposely sketchy. Y&R’s writing staff seemingly did that in order to leave the arc open and fill in the blanks later, as appears to be happening now.
