Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Potential of Vane Can’t Be Denied – Victoria and Cane Give In

Yes, this pairing was unlikely on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But the potential for ‘Vane’ to actually form now exists. While that reality rightly stuns fans and certainly makes ‘Lane’ fans feel sad, there’s no doubt that Vickie (Amelia Heinle) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) have a plot pathway that now allows them to be paired.

Christel Khalil’s (Lily) voluntary drop to recurring status last summer resulted in back office Y&R decision. Rather than write Lily out, she was just written off to jail.

Hopefully this solid actor continues to appear in scenes through next September, when Lily is scheduled to be released. At that time, Khalil may opt to return full-time, which would establish a major conflict, assuming that ‘Vane’ then exists.

Cane’s world was naturally decimated when the love of his life was forced to leave their home and three children at the end of summer. For awhile, he handled matters, but then Mr. Ashby reverted to his reckless patterns.

Drinking and feeling sorry for himself, Cane hasn’t been in a strong place for awhile. Meanwhile, Vickie’s been dealing with the horror show involving J.T.’s (Thad Luckinbill) death that she isn’t able to share with the world.

This potentially emerging couple’s jump start will likely have happened If viewers see Vickie confide in Cane in this regard. Despite their claims of not liking each other, there’s clear chemistry between this duo.

Billy (Jason Thompson) felt compelled to tell Lily about Cane’s involvement with Victoria. Mr. Abbott did so out of desperation in hopes of saving the latest ‘Villy’ reunion, which feels doomed as the Wisconsin winter winds rage on.

If accomplished, ‘Vane’ would be a major couple’s shift with significant implications for other connected characters, including ‘Lane’s’ and ‘Villy’s’ children. Also, the more time passes with increased meetings, be there kisses exchanged or not, the plausibility of Vickie and Cane developing strong feelings for each other will make more sense, though it still is a lot for Y&R fans to digest.
