Thanks to the Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) story, newer viewers know that Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) fooled around with Stuart Brooks (Robert Colbert) who was also in their high school group of friends back in the day. The two had an affair that produced Theo’s late father. But longtime Y & R viewers might recall that Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) was also in that group, along with John Abbott (Jerry Douglas).

Katherine’s Young and the Restless backstory revealed that she and John had an affair in high school also, even though she and Dina were friends as adults. John would have bought Dina that necklace a long time ago. He bought it when Dina gave birth to Jack, according to the story Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) related to him. The old home movie that he and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) watched bore out the story. Dina had the necklace, with a large teardrop cut diamond on as she cradled newborn Jack in a receiving blanket.

However, longtime Young and the Restless viewers have spoken out against Victor’s story that John bought the Teardrop of Love necklace on the black market. They say John would never have bought anything if he knew it was stolen. Could Victor have told a tall tale?

Y&R Spoilers And Rumors – Jack Abbott Runs Into Lauren Baldwin And Mentions The Necklace

Young and the Restless spoilers show Jack runs into Lauren in an upcoming Y & R episode. The two old friends talk and he mentions the necklace. As he describes it, Lauren thinks she may have seen it. Jack asks her where? She thinks she saw it in an old photo of Katherine that Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) had. While Lauren and Katherine did not interact much during Katherine’s lifetime, Katherine and Jill certainly did!

While they were enemies for years, they became very close in Katherine’s final years on The Young and the Restless. They became like mother and daughter, and for a short time, they thought they were. Later new information was revealed that they were not mother and daughter.

Jack puzzles over if it was the same necklace and how Katherine would have gotten it. He had previously told Traci he thought maybe Dina had sold it but Traci disagreed. Jack and Lauren discuss the necklace and what Traci found out about “The Teardrop of Love” historically. The Abbott family as a whole was not all that involved in Katherine’s funeral or will, only Jill was. Jill, Victor, and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) as well as others were all included in the will.

Viewers will recall Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) was left the bulk of the estate. Jill was left an antique music box, and she was very upset until she found out it contained a necklace worth quite a bit of money. However, she then got involved with Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) and it again disappeared.

This necklace may not have been the same necklace though. However, Nikki was the one who has left the rest of Katherine’s jewelry! How the necklace got from Dina to Katherine is still a mystery! Since Jill was married to John, it’s possible she found it during that time and gave it to Katherine at some point. Did Victor tell Jack a tall tale so Nikki could keep the necklace, it has been with the other jewelry she was left?
