Sharon (Sharon Case) is experiencing significant legal trouble on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That’s why Brittany’s (Lauren Woodland) retained advice will prove crucial to her immediate future on Y&R. But whether Sharon pleads guilty, or retains her innocence stance, the potential for ‘Shey’ to form will be jeopardized.

Some may feel that Sharon and Nick (Joshua Morrow) were never a good pairing. That personal case can be argued outside of a Genoa City courtroom by all hardcore fans.

There are those who liked ‘Shick’ back in the day, but weren’t on board with either their attempted remarriage in the fall of 2014 and, or the almost re-nuptials that failed in October 2018. But most devoted supporters of this one-time power couple still hope that Sharon and Nick will be written back together. This contingent simply wants them to have one more chance.

All that was transpiring between Sharon and Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) was always contained by the knowledge all viewers possessed. Regardless of one’s take on ‘Shick’ then, maybe today, or whenever, the secret Sharon was keeping from Rey about her connection to the coverup crew was always going to prove troublesome.

Despite their proclaims of love for each other, Rey won’t immediately get past Sharon having withheld critical case truth from him. For her part, Sharon’s feelings of betrayal will now be contrasted against the familiar protective approach that Nick represents.

Assume Sharon is convicted and goes to prison. How could she then be expected to further some romantic connection with Rey, the police officer who facilitated her arrest?

Assume Sharon gets off without jail time. Why would she choose to continue moving closer to Rey, as his efforts could have caused a lasting separation from her children?

And then there’s Nick. Yes, he betrayed her in an incredibly cruel way all those years ago when he and Phyllis (as then played by Michelle Stafford) first got together in the period that followed Cassie’s (Camryn Grimes) tragic death. And yes, Sharon’s relationship with him has been fully erratic ever since. But Rey was the guy whose actions could have put her behind bars, not Nick’s.

Sharon has a mix of current feelings for Rey and latent emotions that will forever be connected to Nick. ‘Shey’ or ‘Shick’? This is a legitimately good soap conflict.
