Losing someone important in one’s life is not something anyone is ever prepared for. In some instances, individuals leave the earth long before they were expected to do so. Y&R will, as it has in past instances, enable the audience to deal with St. John’s loss in the way people knew him, as Neil. As St. John’s last recorded episode was shown this week, the forthcoming storyline will need to involve newly created material.
This week’s stunning news is still being emotionally digested by viewers who have been following St. John’s performances since he first debuted on Y&R in 1991. Longtime fans fondly recall the love affair and family Neil went on to create with Drucilla (Victoria Rowell), the business success he achieved in Genoa City, and, most importantly, the legacy this particular actor forged within the entertainment industry.
As is in true in real life, the family of a departed loved one continues to serve as a meaningful reflection. While she’s now working on recurring status, Christel Khalil (Lily) will surely have a unique part to play in her on-screen father and real life mentor’s final storyline. The same is true for Bryton James, as Devon is his adopted son and business partner at the Hamilton Winters Group.
“The Young and the Restless” will forever value the legacy of Kristoff St. John in his portrayal of Neil Winters. Beginning in late April, Y&R will feature a storyline that pays tribute to both Kristoff and his character.

Hopefully, Malcolm (Shemar Moore), Neil’s brother, and Olivia (Tonya Lee Williams), Neil’s sister-in-law through ‘Dru’, along with others who were deeply connected to St. John’s character through the years will return to GC as part of the storyline that’s currently being developed as well.
