Y&R Spoilers: Abby And Dominic Need Hubby and Dad – Chance Return Planned?

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Chance Chancellor (as last played by Donny Boaz) is still off somewhere doing something. His return is unclear, which doesn’t reflect soap.

Meanwhile, his suffering wife, Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway), and his son, Dominic Phillip Newman Abbott Chancellor (no baby actor known to be cast for this role), need help.

Abby does have the other characters, seemingly written into proximity by Y&R’s writing staff to create a month’s-long distraction for the audience while Chance is away. So, when will this weird scenario end?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chance Chancellor Is An Important Character

Chance, being his nickname, was fourth in the line of Chancellors. His full name is Phillip Robert Chancellor IV. Phillip Robert Chancellor III (Thom Bierdz) was last seen on Y&R in 2011.

Phillip Robert Chancellor II (Donnelly Rhodes), whose father, Phillip Robert Chancellor I (no actor known to be cast for this retrospective role) infamously died in 1975. His death occurred during one of Y&R’s all-time arcs.

Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) was married to Gary Reynolds (no actor ever known to be cast for this retrospective role). Gary and Phillip II were friends in school. Gary’s death was followed by Katherine’s marriage to Phillip II, but that union was ill-fated.

Cooper’s character picked up Phillip II at the airport. A fight ensued, with an inebriated Katherine flooring the gas pedal and causing an accident. Phillip II died in the hospital a short time later but married Jill Foster (as most recently played by Jess Walton) before that farewell.

Jill gave birth to Phillip III months later. The dramatic events sparked the arguably greatest battle in this show’s history, as Jill and Katherine became mortal enemies.

Y&R Spoilers – Legacy Break Or Not?

Abby’s choice to name Chabs’ baby Dominic could be cited as a Chancellor legacy break. She did use the second of the baby’s five names to pay respect to Chance. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), the surrogate mother, found Abby’s list of names to be very Abby, which meant that her name decisions were a bit much.

Due to surgery following a shooting Chance was unable to father a child. Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) served as the donor, making him Dominic’s biological father. Devon’s place as Katherine’s grandson reflects a creative touch on the writing staff’s behalf.

So, Abby did not break the Chancellor’s legacy when not using Phillip Robert for her biological son’s first and middle names.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Open Storyline Ends Still Flailing

As fans recall, Abby is believed to be unable to conceive due to scar tissue that resulted from her miscarriage. That condition developed when Ben Stitch Rayburn’s (Sean Carrigan) son, Max Rayburn (Jared Breeze), purposely set a trap that caused Abby to fall down the stairs at the Genoa City Athletic Club and lose Stabby’s baby.

The audience came to see why Stitch was written back into the show, after being gone for years. But fans still don’t know why Chance is being kept away.

Here’s hoping that the loose ends, during what has been an overly complex tale, are soon addressed. Abby, Dominic, and their observers on the other side of the screen need closure.
