The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Richard Burgi who plays Ashland Locke just hours ago revealed on his Insta Stories that he is leaving the show. After joining The Young and the Restless less than a year ago in March, Burgi announced that he is leaving the role of Ashland “Locke-Ness Monster” Locke HE originally came on as a ruthless business shark but mellowed under the hand of his enemy’s daughter.

that Richard Burgi started his message by saying, “I want to say thank you to all of you wonderful folks who have been so kind and generous and supportive with your words, I have such gratitude for the support. I’m moving on from the show.” He went on to say that he had a great run at Y&R and wished the cast and crew as well as his fans a good start to 2022. “I have such gratitude,” he added.

Burgi did no given any details about how the decision came about nor when his character will last be seen. As he spoke he held on to his dog, an adorable white and dark colored pup.

Ashland married Genoa City heiress Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) recently and he had been in a life or death cancer battle, before, during and after their marriage.

Ashland Locke told his loved ones that his experimental treatment was working and his in-laws Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) were thrilled.
