No. His character was never fully developed and his agenda was never really known. He is a fine talent that was wasted. It's time for Y & R to get new blood with new head writer(s) as Josh Griffith had a horrible year last year and it is still continuing. It's time for them to cut their losses and turn in a new direction. Is Jill Farren Phelps available as executive producer?

Yes, he is a wonderful actor and is still quite handsome. He can play multi-layered characters well. Burghi gave the show some much-needed “sparks”! TPTB didn’t give him much of a story, lately. The show needs a male around his age. 

I liked his character (and him) paired with Victoria. He is the first man she has had chemistry with since Billy Miller played Billy Abbott!

TPTB have let so much talent go by either firing, by not giving very good actors’ raises, or putting excellent actors like Christian LeBlanc (also, an Emmy winner) on back burner status for 2 or more years.

The heads, also, gave a 42-year veteran and legacy actor, Doug Davison, the shaft. He was quite talented (an Emmy for best lead actor in 2013), added sparks to the show, we’ll-liked, and acted as a “cheerleader” for Y & R. 

Plus, he was the most-tenured actor, at the time, who was not even given the courtesy, honor, and respect of a show highlighting his years at Y & R!

I loved his acting from day one. I didn't think he'd stay long. they don't keep the good ones long it seems. just like how they let go donny boaz(chance,)

I am so not surprised and actually glad he's gone ..I never liked him and I hate Victoria with him she became a real Biatch with him I hope they divorce she gets back to who she was before him when she was barely tolerable lol instead of being not at all tolerable !

Hope he dump Victoria and tell Adam what Victoria is up to. We know she is trying to steal Newman Media from Adam. Time for Adam to bring Victoria down. Nick and Victoria are spoiled brats. They hold all the answers to success and all they do is try and out do Adam, for what? I still want Victoria and Nick to find out about Billy Boy and Summer. I want Victoria to find out that Nick help Phyllis buy the hotel from under her. Let put an end to the these two problems before the writers hand Rey over to Chelsea. That will be a story within itself.

So true. Yet they allow Phyllis and Amanda plus Rey hang around. Sally is another one that is hanging around. Victor and Nikki are not seen that often and neither is Kevin.

He should just surcome to this illness we've got a year invested in watching them fight. And as his wife, Victoria would get everything except what is in trust for Harrison. That amount of wealth and power would make Victoria a force to be reckoned with, world wide, and yet we all know she's not stable enough to handle it….some interesting stuff coming our way…

I’m surprised by his sudden decision to leave such a successful show. I like Richard Burgi when he was on General Hospital, his character was convicted of several brutal murders. He is a great actor and I will miss him

You are absolutely right in your comments, Y&R are getting shot of the wrong people. It's not the actors, its the writers who should go. They are getting away with running this show onto the ground, whilst promising actors and characters are being treated like garbage.

Totally agree, it feels like they throw away really good actors and characters but are happy to focus on the bland and the less talented! I don't get it, its like the shows management want to disappoint and bore their fans.

No, the show is sadly making a habit of letting go of good actors, whilst focusing all their energy on the less talented and the same old rehashed stories. I keep watching in the hope that the shows executives will come to the senses and make real changes in the areas that matter, like the writing department. How they can continue to fire good actors but keep terrible writers, producing lazy rehashed stories, childish stories that they clearly haven't bothered to research the characters history and stories that to loyal fans make absolutely no sense is beyond me. It's like the show has become so complacent of its fans the executives feel that they can just coast off the Bells legacy.

I agree with Sparky63.. I've stopped watching the show as I couldn't stand the crappy storylines they were coing out with.. they clearly need to get some new blood and some interesting storylines if they want to keep the audience.. I've not watched the show since they arrested Tara that was about the only good storyline they had going for them at the time!
