Blue Bloods Boston Spinoff Gets New Cast Members, Fall Premiere Date

It’s the end of an era at CBS primetime and Blue Bloods is officially off the air after 14 seasons and nearly 300 episodes of the Reagan Family fighting NYC crime. 

However, the network has confirmed there will be a spinoff.  Boston Blue is set to premiere with Donnie Wahlberg much sooner than you think!  Keep reading for all the details and new Boston Blue TV spoilers.  

Boston Blue’s Silver Family

When Blue Bloods’ finale aired on CBS, there was a silver lining.  The network confirmed there was a spinoff coming to primetime. 

Boston Blue will follow fan fave Danny Reagan as he leaves NYC and relocates to Boston for a job at the precinct. 

Like Blue Bloods, its spinoff will follow a prominent law enforcement family, this time its Boston’s Silver Family.  Of course, Danny will be right in the middle of the family’s drama and partnered with Det.

Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green).  Lena’s step-sister Sarah Silver, who is also the superintendent of the Boston PD will be played by Psych alum Maggie Lawson.  

So far CBS has not given Boston Blue an official premiere date, but they have confirmed that Donnie Wahlberg and his new series will debut some time in Fall 2025.  Just like Wahlberg’s previous time slot, Boston will air on Friday nights. 

The network tends to stagger their Fall TV premieres to keep the momentum going throughout the season.  That means Boston Blue could premiere any time between Late August 2025 and November 2025.  

What Blue Bloods Cast Members Will Go To Boston

As of right now, Donnie Wahlberg is the only original Blue Bloods cast member slated to appear on the new spinoff.  But, we all know how tight-knit the Reagan Family is.  If Danny gets in to any sort of trouble or hurt in Boston, they will pop up on the canvas in a heartbeat. 

NYC and Boston aren’t that far from each other, the Reagan and Silver Families might even have to work together on a case.
