Blue Bloods Spoilers – Danny Reagan Has Been Single For A While Now

Blue Bloods watchers will recall that Danny Reagan has been single for a while now, with Linda Reagan (Amy Carlson) having died off-screen unexpectedly in season seven. She died in a helicopter crash related to her nursing work. After a decent mourning time, Danny has tried to move on a couple of times, but the first time he started to get involved with anyone, it was too soon for him.

He hasn’t really tried to date anyone since, and fans are hoping, with him getting closer to Baez, that it might turn romantic between the two. Police partners spend a great deal of time together, and sometimes when together through so many situations filled with danger, they become close and sometimes fall in love.

That’s what happened with Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) and Eddie Janko-Reagan (Vanessa Ray) who married in season nine. Baez was invited to their wedding. The show has been showing more of Danny and Baez’ close friendship lately, and Danny seems to be moving closer to being ready to start dating again. She became Danny’s partner in season three. Season eleven started with an episode called “Triumph Over Trauma” in which Baez was hurt on the job. She also got upset with Danny because he didn’t let anyone know where they were going to investigate, which is a rule of the job, and had gotten trapped in basement. Danny, in turn, made it up to her by inviting her to their family dinner at the end of the episode.

Blue Bloods Spoilers – Fans Are Noticing Danny Reagan And Maria Baez’ Increasing Closeness

Fans are noticing Detectives Reagan and Baez’ increasing closeness personally, which may also be some of the actors’ closeness off screen coming through. As on Blue Bloods, Marisa has been included in Donnie Wahlberg’s family functions and is considered a family friend. Marisa says she sees Baez as part of Danny’s extended family on the show as well. She says being the part of an extended family is a good place to be, and she is glad that he includes her in his. She notes that what starts out as going to the Reagan family dinners is a good place to start, and the possibilities are endless for their friendship to blossom into something more eventually.

She says another actor, who she didn’t name, in the cast also has noticed them growing closer and pointed out what could be down the road for the two. Wahlberg himself thinks that Danny may find love soon; he said in a previous interview with Showbiz Cheat Sheet that the writers and producers have been flirting around with Danny, and his connection with his partner. He referred to one promising relationship as of 2019, with a psychic named Maggie (Callie Thorne) although it didn’t quite evolve into a romantic relationship – that could have been a screen test, although Donnie doesn’t know what the writers have planned for the future. Will Danny and Baez go the way of Jamie and Eddie? Maybe. Fans will just have to wait and see!
