Blue Bloods fans feared that CBS would cancel their favorite show. But after the cast and producers agreed to a significant pay cut, CBS gave in. And Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg cheered the renewal on Instagram.

Instagram followers of Donnie Wahlberg rushed to respond when he shared the news about Blue Bloods. And Donnie also noted his return to the CBS police drama on Twitter. But Wahlberg’s Instagram followers responded with the biggest cheers to his news about the show’s renewal.

And in an Instagram video, the Blue Bloods star shared the news about season 14. He also posted throwback pics of his Blue Bloods co-stars. However, Donnie used his Instagram caption to express his excitement.

“Season 14 here we come! Can’t wait!” gushed Wahlberg. And he tagged both @bluebloods_cbs and @cbstv as well as adding the hashtag for #BlueBloods in his caption. Jenny McCarthy rushed to congratulate him, responding, “Amazing!!! Congrats!!!!!!!! And well deserved!”

Donnie also referred to his Blue Bloods future on Twitter. Because of his popularity on The Masked Singer, fans asked him to return. However, he shared, “I’d love to. But I think I’m too busy with Blue Bloods! Thanks though.”

However, Donnie and his Blue Bloods co-stars only received news of the renewal after agreeing to a cut in pay. And producers joined the actors in taking a 25 percent reduction in pay. As a result of agreeing to the slashed income, CBS renewed Blue Bloods for season 14, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Donnie and his co-stars Tom Selleck, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes and Len Cariou will succeed in helping hundreds of production crew members remain employed for the new season. And the renewal makes Blue Bloods CBS’ second-longest-running current scripted series. That history-making achievements comes because NCIS: Los Angeles will end this season. And only the original NCIS, just renewed for season 21, has aired longer.

We can’t wait to pull a chair up to the Reagan family dinner table for another fantastic season.” 

Blue Bloods has become the anchor for CBS’ prime-time shows on Friday nights. And it ranks as one of the most popular original shows at the network, which produces it in-house. In addition to Blue Bloods, CBS renewed CSI: Vegas, The Equalizer, all three of FBI shows, Fire Country, So Help Me Todd, NCIS and its spinoff, NCIS: Hawai’i. Other early renewals include Bob Hearts Abishola, Ghosts and The Neighborhood.
