‘Suits’ may have mostly ran under the radar for most of its ten seasons, but wow, once it launched on Netflix, it quickly spread like wildfire, gaining a whole new massive audience. And with this new massive audience came a massive fan hunger for more of the iconic legal drama they experienced in the world of “Suits.’
Enter the spinoff ‘Suits: LA’ led by Stephen Amell. But, believe it or not, some of our old favorites will be dropping in from time to time just to give us that beautiful connection to the original. Series lead Gabriel Macht has already been confirmed to return as Harvey Specter in a three-episode arc that will see him helping out an old buddy, aka Stephen Amell’s Ted Black.
‘Suits: LA’ Promises To Merge Courtroom Drama With Personal Drama
‘Suits: LA’ will follow New Yorker Ted Black, an attorney who decides to move to LA for a chance at working in the entertainment and criminal law industry.
He finds himself an unlikely partner in Josh McDermitt’s Stewart Lane, and for years they make it work, until some past secrets start rising to the surface, threatening to crumble all that he’s worked so hard to achieve.
Per the official synopsis, “Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.”
It continued, “Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”
After originally beginning production in Vancouver, the series moved to LA where it’s been primarily shooting for a while now.
