‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Season 8 To Feature A Time Jump

Fans of The Walking Dead franchise would be excited to learn that the spinoff series Fear The Walking Dead is ready with an all-new season. However, the upcoming season will feature a time jump. Yes, you heard that right! Previously, the original series The Walking Dead showcased a six-year jump in Season 9. Now, a similar move is confirmed for the spinoff series as well. So, how long will this time jump be? Keep reading to find out the details!

Fear The Walking Dead aired a total of seven seasons, and in December 2021, the series was renewed for Season 8. However, the makers also confirmed that the series would be the final one wrapping up the story with one final adventure. Fear The Walking Dead Season 8 will premiere on Hulu and AMC on May 15, 2023.

The upcoming season will have a massive seven-year time jump and will finally be in the same timeline as the original show. Until the seventh season, the series was far behind in comparison to The Walking Dead. Now, this gap will close after the new season airs.

Fear The Walking Dead

Fear The Walking Dead is a prequel to The Walking Dead, which was created to showcase the start of this deadly zombie apocalypse. So, naturally, the events in the show happened way earlier than that of the main show, especially in the initial few seasons. However, after Morgan’s arrival in Season 4, the series was forced to catch up with the timeline of The Walking Dead.

The final season will divide the story into two segments. While the first part will follow the events after Season 7, the second part will feature the time jump.

Fear The Walking Dead’s final chapter time jump makes sense for more potential spinoffs in the future. While the original show ended in November 2022, this year marks the end of Fear The Walking Dead. The show makers have already announced future spinoff titles, The Walking Dead: Dead City, that will feature Negan and Maggie. Additionally, the network has also confirmed The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon spinoff alongside another untitled series that will star Michonne and Rick.

The final season will resume from the previous season’s finale, where Morgan and Madison’s plans to rescue Mo fail. Now, Madison, Morgan, and others brought to Padre’s island must conform to his cynical rule.

So, are you excited to learn what happens next on Fear The Walking Dead? And how do you think the time jump will fall in line with the ongoing timeline? Share your thoughts in the comments!
