Following his exit in “Grey’s Anatomy”, Jesse Williams has landed a new role in an upcoming Netflix rom-com movie.

Williams left his iconic role as Dr. Jackson Avery in the longest-running medical drama when his character left Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to start a new life in Boston.

Though he was expected to show up as a guest star in the future scenes of Grey’s, Jesse Williams joined Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher, who will play the lead roles as Debbie and Peter in a romantic comedy movie, “Your Place or Mine.” The actor will work together with Zoë Chao, Steve Zahn, Tig Notaro, and Wesley Kimmel.

As documented by Variety, the writer-director of the show, Aline Brosh McKenna is thrilled to work with the entire cast and she can’t wait to step into a journey with them. “They are supremely brilliant and talented and we can’t wait to embark on this journey with them,” McKenna said.

Fans who are looking forward to the upcoming rom-com movie will still have to wait a little longer before Netflix reveals how Williams, Chao, Zahn, and Notaro will play in the movie.

The show has already teased the viewers with its plot with Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher, who play Debbie and Peter as best friends but are the total opposite.

There is no exact date yet for the show’s release, but the entire team has already started filming in New York City.

As the producer of the show, Reese Witherspoon posted on Instagram a photo of herself and a group photo of the team with a caption, “Heading back to my rom-com roots! Let’s do this! @netflix #YourPlaceOrMine”
