Yellowstone spoilers, news, and updates reveal that Kevin Costner is paid more than $1.2 million per episode in the fifth season of Yellowstone.
Kevin Costner may exit Yellowstone after Season 5. Although there were no announcements, fans speculate that Costner could leave the show because his focus is divided between Yellowstone and his upcoming film Horizon.
Kevin Costner – Could Exit Yellowstone
It was reported that the actor would commit to filming for a limited number of days for both season 4 and the first half of season 5. The main cast was also not present in the recent PaleyFest panel. This could be a conflict of schedule, or the actors just didn’t want to participate.
It was also reported in February that Paramount was trying to persuade Matthew McConaughey for a spinoff. It may be a sign that the network is seeing the future without Costner.
Even Chris McCarthy, President of ViacomCBS, said that McConaughey’s spinoff would move forward whether or not Costner returns to the original. But he also credited Costner for being an important part of the show and said that he still wants him to stay for a long time.
Costner is a huge part of Yellowstone. He even won Best Actor in a Drama Series at Golden Globes for his portrayal of John Dutton.
How Much Could Kevin Costner Lose If He Leaves Yellowstone?
As mentioned, he was paid over $1.2 million per episode in the fifth season. There are only a few actors that get seven figures per episode.
Some of them include the cast of The Big Bang Theory, Jennifer Anniston for FRIENDS, the main cast of Game of Thrones, and Jason Sudeikis for Ted Lasso.
If the numbers were accurate, Kevin Costner could be earning almost $17 million just for season 5, as it has 14 episodes. However, if Kevin doesn’t return for the second half of the fifth season, this pay could also be cut in half, but we are still not sure.
It is not publicly stated whether his contract is per episode or for the whole season. If it’s for the whole season, it means he could still be paid even if he leaves after the first half.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Costner’s salary could increase to $1.5 million per episode if he decides to film a sixth season. This could be around $24 million for the whole season.
Kevin Costner is currently 68 years old and reportedly has a net worth of $250 million. To be fair, he’s been active since the 1980s and has not really slowed down.
