NCIS: Los Angeles spoilers tease that an NCIS: Hawaii spinoff may be in the works, and NCIS: Los Angeles stars Daniela Ruah and Eric Christian Olsen recently spoke up about the possibility of an NCIS: Hawaii.
NCIS: Los Angeles Spoilers – The Hawaii Spinoff Would Film In Hawaii
Daniela, who plays Kensi Blye, and Eric, who plays Marty Deeks, recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the possibility of the new spinoff to take place and be filmed in the Aloha State. Eric thought that watching NCIS agents going after and catching the bad guys in a paradise setting is very exciting and a great opportunity for the NCIS franchise. There have been at least two criminal procedure programs in the past that took place in Hawaii that were very successful, and both have had recent reboots – one being Hawaii Five-O and the other being Magnum PI. Eric said, after all, Hawaii is Hawaii, and people love to watch anything filmed in the beautiful tropical paradise.
Eric also thinks it’s a great opportunity for expansion of the NCIS franchise. Daniela is also excited. She said she knows that the recipe for the NCIS franchise has worked, and with all the series combined there have been thirty-seven seasons, so the hopes are high for NCIS: Hawaii to be just as successful as the original. NCIS was actually a spinoff of JAG, and it’s pilot was a JAG episode in 2003. The three NCIS series have a combined eight hundred twenty six episodes that have aired so far. Daniela broke it down into seasons for each; NCIS eighteen seasons, NCIS LA twelve seasons, and NCIS NOLA seven seasons.
NCIS: Los Angeles Spoilers – What’s Coming Next
Sadly, NCIS: New Orleans will be ending with its seventh season, with the finale coming up in May 2021. No word has been forthcoming as to whether any of its stars might transfer to the new show filming in Hawaii, with most sources saying NCIS Hawaii will have a whole new team and no backdoor pilots from any of the current shows. More changes are coming to the rest of the shows. NCIS is losing a major star this season with the departure of Maria Bello as Jaqueline “Jack” Sloane. NCIS Los Angeles will be adding someone new. But then, cast changes are nothing new for any of the NCIS shows.
The flagship NCIS show alone has had at least half a dozen changes throughout its history, with female agents Caitlin Todd (Sasha Alexander) and Ziva David (Cote De Pablo) both meeting untimely deaths, although Ziva’s was a bit drawn out. There have been two forensic scientists, with fan favorite Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) leaving the series a couple of years ago and being replaced with Kasie Hines (Diana Reasonover). There have been at least three NCIS directors onscreen and possibly one or two mentioned but never onscreen. NCIS New Orleans has had one agent death, Christopher LaSalle (Lucas Black) while NCIS Los Angeles sadly lost one actor to death in real life. That was Miguel Ferrer who played Director Owen Granger.
