NCIS fans can breathe easy, CBS recently announced 5 shows that will get to run for yet another season. Other veteran hit dramas getting renewed alongside NCIS are Blue Bloods, S.W.A.T, Bull, and Magnum P.I.
NCIS Spoilers: Mark Harmon’s Fate Decided
For many months NCIS fans have speculated the fate of Mark Harmon following his character’s suspension after a violent encounter with an animal abuser. It fueled the rumor that the hit series was getting ready to remove Harmon, who plays the character of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, from the show. The rumors were further helped by the fact that Mark Harmon was up for a contract renewal.
Harmon, whose special agent character was first introduced through a guest starring role in two episodes of JAG, has been on NCIS since the show’s 2003 premiere. The Hollywood Reporter previously reported in February that the actor was considering moving on from the hit show, but having later learned that the show would likely come to an end if he left, decided to stick around for another season and negotiated his return.
The Hollywood Reporter first announced that Harmon would be returning for season 19 of the show, but for now, it’s unknown whether he will be returning as a full-time character or taking on the limited role of a guest star.
The End Of NCIS New Orleans
The news of the series renewal is coming just after NCIS: New Orleans was preparing to wrap up its series run next month, with NCIS: Los Angeles still on the waiting list of shows wishing to get a go-ahead order in order to start shooting season 13.
There have also been speculations that a new NCIS spinoff based in Hawaii is being considered by the network, but CBS is yet to confirm the news. TVLine reported earlier this month that the expected spinoff will be the first to cast a female, presumably bearing the name Jane Tennant, as the lead character. No other casting information has been announced.

Family Time On NCIS
Actress Pam Dawber, who happens to be Harmon’s real-life wife since 1987, recently made a debut appearance on NCIS as a character named Marcie Warren. It sent waves of speculation through fans of the show as they guessed that her appearance on the show had something to do with Mark Harmon’s supposed exit from the show.
She denied that her guest appearance had anything to do with her husband’s exit, saying that it “has nothing to do with anything. This is just a good storyline. I’m not going to go tip the hat on anything, but they don’t think like that over there. A good storyline is a good storyline, and honest to God, we don’t even know how it’s going to end.”
