NCIS Showrunner Responds To Fans Ranting About Gibbs’ Replacement

NCIS“NCIS” fans are still moving on over the exit of their beloved Agent Leroy Gibbs. When they ended up being disappointed over the new team leader, the upset supporters made noise all over Twitter and showrunner Steven D. Binder has left them a word.

NCIS Spoilers – Are You Team Timothy McGee Or Team Alden Parker?

Almost everyone was rooting for Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) to replace Gibbs’ (Mark Harmon) position, but the result surprised the avid viewers. Fate was not with them right now when FBI Special Agent Parker (Gary Cole) got Gibbs’ responsibility as head of the team.

Fans gathered on social media saying that McGee deserves to be the team leader rather than Parker. Some said that Parker should not lead the team as he was the newcomer among all of them.

A fan claimed CBS lied to the viewers and expressed: “Gibbs would have never recommended Parker over McGee for leader.”

The showrunner Binder addresses the issue, saying: “I, personally, would not presume to think Gibbs recommended Parker “over” McGee. I would like to think Gibbs and McGee had plenty of time to talk about the future and what McGee told Torres on the stakeout… Gibbs already knew.”

In one of the scenes of their latest episode, McGee has talked to Nicholas Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) that it would not be a good idea if he will be the head of the team, for he doesn’t want to lessen his time with his family.

“If there’s anything I learned from Gibbs, it’s that this job is all consuming… that can’t be me. I can’t do that. It’s that simple,” he said.

Some fans have understood McGee’s decision about why he doesn’t want to be the team leader. They have encouraged others to be light with Parker, for he also fits with the position.

‘NCIS’ Spoilers –  Hails Alden Parker As The New Team Leader

After Agent Leroy Gibbs left “NCIS”, Director Leon Vance must put someone to lead the team, and he considered FBI Special Agent Parker to fill in Gibbs’ shoes.

The “Face the Strange” episode started with Parker (Gary Cole) telling everybody that he would decline the offer to be the head of the team. It made the rest feel bad, especially that they were still adjusting to Gibbs’ exit.

It was an awkward moment, so Parker told Vance (Rocky Carroll) about his ticket for a Simon and Garfunkel concert that will begin on that day, but the team director convinced him to stay for a little longer.

Later that day, a case was assigned to Parker for him to take care of. Though it didn’t make everybody happy, the newcomer did great with his task and even enjoyed NCIS more than his old FBI job.

By the end of the episode, Parker admitted that there was no concert, and he just wanted to experience a regular day at NCIS. Being successful with his task, FBI Special Agent Parker signed to be Gibbs’ replacement as team leader. Keep checking Celebrating The Soaps for more NCIS spoilers, news, and updates.
