NCIS Wilmer Valderrama Teases Aftermath After Torres’ Bittersweet Reunion With Dad

NCIS spoilers and updates reveals Tuesday past episode showed a Nick Torres-centric episode of digging into his heartbreaking past with his absent father, who abandoned him and the family when he was five years old.

Previous years showed Torres slowly softening up and becoming a positive team member and as a person, but following his father’s second betrayal, it fractured and broke him.

“NCIS” actor Wilmer Valderrama teased that the heartbreaking end will cause his character to change in the following episodes.

NCIS Spoilers – A Bittersweet Ending

Tuesday’s episode featured the guest star Steven Bauer as Miguel, the long-lost father of Torres, whom he thought was long dead. He showed up in the course of a murder investigation and was later revealed he was working this entire time on risky undercover missions for many government agencies, specifically for the CIA. Nick almost lost his dad again in a dramatic confrontation when a rogue CIA agent shot his dad multiple times.

He offered his dad a chance to catch up with the rest of the family for dinner, and Miguel agreed. However, the episode turned out to be a bittersweet reunion of the two when Nick headed to the hotel to fetch his dad, only to enter an empty room. As quick as it was, Miguel abandoned his family, again.

“Maybe this is why I went undercover for so long. This is why I wasn’t emotionally attached to anything. That’s why I trained myself to not be at one place for too long, to become anything but me to get the bad guy.” Wilmer as Torres told Entertainment Tonight

The betrayal was the confirmation for Torres not to trust anyone anymore. “That is going to do a number on him … You’re going to see that play out. He’s not going to trust many people,” he added.

Torres went to Gibb’s house to deal with the disappointment. Not willing to talk about what happened, Gibbs let him eat the steak he just cooked saying he understands his silence. “The only people he really knows to put his trust in is his team, because he knows that they’ve been through worse together somehow,” Wilmer revealed.

The actor also mentioned fans should look forward to how Torres and Bishop’s relationship will improve this season. “It’s hard for them to really know how to make a square. fit in the triangle. It’s this Tetris. They’re playing Tetris with their minds and they don’t really know where they fit with one another. But I will tell you, this is the season you’ll find out… It’s vague but it’s incredibly loaded. That’s all I can tell you,” he explained.
