NCIS: Hawaii Spoilers – Vanessa Lachey Shows Her Appreciation for Landing a Starring Role In NCIS: Hawaii
The 40-year-old actress will portray the character of Jane Tennant, the first female Special Agent in Charge of NCIS: Pearl, in the series.
Before being cast for the part in the fourth spin-off of the long-running NCIS franchise, Lachey has appeared in such movies as That’s Life, The Bold and the Beautiful, Psych, Maybe It’s Me, Disaster Movie and others.
To properly launch the production of the show in Hawaii, a ceremony, attended by major players from the cast and producers, was celebrated. According to reports, the ceremony (which is done to honor the traditional Hawaiian blessing) included an Oli Aloha (welcoming chant) and a Pule Ho’oku’u (closing prayer).
Vanessa Lachey recently took to her Instagram to give fans an update regarding her NCIS: Hawaii role and to show her gratitude and dedication for being chosen to portray the character. In the photo, she introduced Larry Teng, who she calls “the man behind the lens.”
For fans that are ready to get into the world of the new NCIS spin-off, Teng usually shares behind-the-scenes photos from the series.
As for the cast and crew, Lachey is happy to be surrounded by “exceptional” people.
“Top to bottom this cast and crew are exceptional! The Aloha spirit is taking us over and I can’t WAIT for you guys to see this show!” She wrote, adding, “I wish I can Thank EVERY person (and I will get to them over time), but first, I want to give a shout out to THIS guy!”
“Thank You [Larry Teng] for believing in me day 1 and for bringing this character to life! I trust You, I appreciate You, I Love YOu. Ohana for life!” the actress concluded.

“The first female Special Agent in Charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor, Jane Tennant, has thrived and risen through the ranks by equal parts confidence and strategy in a system that has pushed back on her every step of the way,” the show’s official description reads. “Together with her unwavering team of specialists, they balance duty to family and country while investigating high-stakes crimes involving military personnel, national security and the mysteries of the sun-drenched island paradise itself.”
The first episode is set to air on September 1 on CBS. The series is created by Christopher Silber, Jan Nash and Matt Bosack, who are also serving as writers and executive producers alongside Larry Teng, who is also set to direct the plot.
