New Amsterdam Spoilers: Jocko Sims Teases Twists And Turns – Who Dies Next?

Jocko Sims New Amsterdam spoilers show, the head of the Cardiac Surgical Department was welcomed back, after a year of absence from the show, and fans are eager to know if it was just a temporary visit or if Dr. Floyd Reynolds would be sticking around.

After having to perform a life-saving operation on one of his former colleagues Dr. Vijay Kapoor, head of the Neurological Department, Reynolds sat in front of a memorial that was made in honor of all the hospital staff who hadn’t been lucky enough to survive the COVID pandemic. After witnessing it, Dr. Reynolds, who had relocated to San Francisco a year ago, lamented to Dr. Lauren Bloom, “I should have been there.”

Dr. Floyd Reynolds Future In New Amsterdam

Following the hint that Dr. Reynolds was hurt by his decision to move and might be making a decision to return back to the hospital, there were speculations if he would be returning to the show, and to the hospital, permanently.

But according to Jocko, who also agrees that he first thought that it could possibly be what the writers might be getting at, there could be a twist to this new discovery. “You would think that, naturally, and we play the emotion of that to lead you there,” Jocko Sims told TVLine, “but there will be twists and turns.”

The actor also went on to describe how his relationship with Evie, his onscreen fiancée, might work out if his character does decide to return to Amsterdam. It could end up in Evie and Reynolds breaking up, he speculates, or Evie might welcome the idea and the two would move back to New York. “There’s a lot of possibility there when you have a relationship such as theirs. Would she come back to New Amsterdam in particular, who knows? We’d have to wait and see.”

Jocko was also presented with the idea that the producers have been kind of toying around with the idea of Reynolds leaving the hospital, and might actually be working on removing him completely from the show, also asking him how he has been navigating the possibility.

He replied that he thought it was so fun for the show to dangle the bait in order to keep fans in absolute suspense, and he also mentioned examples of shows where fans didn’t know if a character might die or leave the show. He went on to say that he really wasn’t expecting it that early in the series. He revealed that originally, he was meant to be gone only for 3 episodes, but with the pandemic, it stretched into a year of absence from the show.

He commended the writers for being able to keep the show rolling and interesting even amidst the pandemic. But no, sadly, he won’t be spilling anything on Reynolds’ future in the show.

It may have come as unexpected for the fans of the show when Max’s wife Georgia died toward the end of season 1 in the show, but according to Jocko it was a shock even to the characters of the show.

He did admit that they knew that someone was going to die on New Amsterdam, they just didn’t know who till the appointed time. In that same spirit, he is predicting a possibility that someone else is going to die at the end of this new season. Who? He doesn’t know and we don’t.
