New Amsterdam Spoilers: Ryan Eggold’s Teases What Is To Come For Max & Helen

New Amsterdam spoilers and updates reveal after watching Max and Helen dance around their feelings in between obstacles being thrown their way (work, other relationships, and more) over the last two seasons, New Amsterdam may finally give fans of the pair what they have been waiting for in season 3.

As teased by actor Ryan Eggold who plays Max, the pair’s relationship and what they haven’t yet said to each other about their feelings will finally “come to a head.”

While speaking with CinemaBlend, Eggold said it best. Fans have been watching and wondering what is between the two and now the wait may be over.

New Amsterdam – Max & Helen Will Come To Terms With Their Feelings

“You know, they were sort of coming to a place at the end of Season 2 where they were getting close to having a conversation that they maybe should have had by now, and sort of voicing things that have been unvoiced to this point, but then that’s complicated by the fact that Helen is now dating Cassian,” Eggold dished.

Adding, “And so whatever they were going to say to each other, whatever was going to be said is, again, sort of buried or brushed aside and swallowed. So it’s going to come to a head this season, whatever that means. Whether they’re best friends, whether they’re lovers, whether they never speak again. It’s time to sort of unearth what has been beneath the surface.”

New Amsterdam – Will Max Be Forced To Reveal His True Feelings?

Of course, Max and Helen won’t be the only two dealing with their potential feelings for one another. With Helen dating Cassian, this all could turn into a love triangle of sorts. Will Max be unable to stomach seeing Helen in a relationship, forcing him to reveal his true feelings? After watching their rooftop scene in the season 3 premiere, it is hard to imagine Max doesn’t have more than just a platonic love for Helen.

“First off, Daniel’s [Cassian] an amazing addition to the show and his character is great and he’s such a talented guy and such a very kind, charming guy. And it’s fun. I mean, now Helen has two guys annoying her to death. But yeah, their dynamic is a fun one, and particularly for Helen, we haven’t really seen her get with anybody, date anybody, have a relationship. So I think it’s going to be fun to watch that with her. And then of course, see how that affects Max in terms of sort of what feelings does that bring up and what do you have to come to confront there,” Eggold shared.

It sounds as though Max and Helen will continue to have obstacles thrown their way making their personal and work lives difficult. There is also a struggle for the hospital to get back to normal following the close of the pandemic and Dr. Kapoor’s fight with covid-19. It sounds like there will be plenty of drama this season at New Amsterdam.
