Outlander: Lauren Lyle Hints Darker Sixth Season

Outlander spoilers and updates tease that the upcoming sixth season will be “really deep and really dark,” according to Lauren Lyle. The actress also dropped some hints on what may happen in her alter ego’s relationship, especially after she committed murder.

Disaster awaits for Lyle’s character, Marsali Fraser, and her partner, Fergus Frasier (César Domboy). Fans may recall that in the last season, Marsali took revenge on Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy) by injecting him with hemlock after he sexually assaulted Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe). Lyle was promoting Vigil, a new BBC drama, when she suggested that her character’s past actions will have a huge effect on her relationship in the upcoming season.

In an interview with Radio Times, the actress described Marsali and Fergus’ relationship as “fun and romantic.” The young couple is in love with each other and is happy together with their kids. But they will be tested in season 6. Their relationship will go through “the most tumultuous time.” Fans will see a different side of Marsali. She’ll step up to deal with her needs and support her family during these difficult times.

Marsali is one of the main characters of Outlander. The upcoming season will also feature Claire, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), Brianna MacKenzie (Sophie Skelton), Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin), and Fergus.

Lauren Lyle Lands Gig On New BBC Drama

Aside from Outlander, fans can also catch Lyle in the new BBC drama titled Vigil. It is a six-part BBC drama that is based on Val McDermid’s novels. It follows the story of a young detective who takes on cold case investigations. He’ll have to solve the mystery behind the disappearance of a Scottish fish trawler and a death on board a submarine.

Lyle will take on the role of Jade Antoniak. Aside from Lyle, other cast members include Suranne Jones, Rose Leslie, Shaun Evans, Martin Compston, and Paterson Joseph. Jones will take on the role of DCI Amy Silva and Leslie as DS Kirsten Longacre.

The actress is extremely happy and excited about the way things are going with her career at the moment. She’s keeping herself busy with Outlander and Vigil. Not only that, she got the chance to work with a stellar cast. When she arrived at the read-through, the actress said the place was filled with an “absolutely unbelievable cast.”
