HBO Succession Season 3 Premiere Date Revealed

SuccessionSuccession spoilers and updates tease that HBO has announced the premiere date for the show’s upcoming third season. The Emmy-award-winning drama is scheduled to return to the screens on Sunday, October 17.

Created by Jesse Armstrong, Succession season 3 will have nine episodes, which is different from its two previous seasons, which both had 10 episodes each. It’s been two years since the show aired its second season. The third season was confirmed during that year however, the production of the new season was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic forced WarnerMedia Entertainment to shut down the production of all of its series including Barry and Succession.

The upcoming season will be filled with be action and drama as problems within the business try to shatter their family dynamics. The show’s official logline says, “Ambushed by his rebellious son Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong) at the end of Season 2, Logan Roy begins Season 3 in a perilous position, scrambling to secure familial, political, and financial alliances.”

Succession Season 3 – Season 2 Finale

HBO hinted that the new series will once again feature Kendall and Logan going head to head. Season 2 ended with Kendall (Jeremy Strong) saying that his father’s reign has officially ended, in public. He was supposed to take the blame for Waystar Royco’s misdeeds. Instead, he betrayed his father, Logan (Brian Cox), who was watching the press conference on a yacht in the Mediterranean as his son try to oust him once again.

Succession has been a hit after HBO’s successful and iconic Game of Thrones. Its second season bagged seven awards at the Emmys including the outstanding drama. It is executive produced by Adam McKay, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Scott Ferguson, Lucy Prebble, Frank Rich, Will Tracy, Tony Roche, Jon Brown, and Will Ferrell.

Succession Season 3 – Season 3 Cast Members

Aside from Cox and Strong, the cast of the upcoming season includes Kieran Culkin, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, Dagmara Dominczyk, Justine Lupe, Alan Ruck, Peter Friedman, and J. Smith-Cameron, to name a few. The Hollywood Reporter said that some of the show’s actors got a pay increase for every episode of up to $350,000.

Succession Season 3 – Succession’s Future Hinted

There are reports that Succession will not go beyond five seasons. The show’s executive producer, Georgia Pritchett, said, “I think the maximum would be five seasons, but possibly more like four.” “At this point [Armstrong] is saying only one more,” she continued.
