Finally, after years of being absent from the network, professional wrestling will be returning to The CW. Soon, according to Haus of Wrestling, new episodes of NWA will start airing on the network.
At the moment, there’s been no announcement as to the exact date this would happen apart from the promise that it will come “relatively soon.”
NWA President Billy Corgan Announces They Signed Two Deals For Two Shows With The CW
NWA is upgrading and president Billy Corgan couldn’t be prouder or happier. After years of being on YouTube, the professional wrestling program has now found a home with The CW, where they will be launching with two programs. Good things come in twos don’t they?
“I can now say for the first time, and I have to be a bit vague because there’s some other political aspects to this,” he said during a recent interview on Busted Open Radio.
“I can now say that we finally have signed not just one, but two television deals. And that announcement as far as where and who will be coming soon, but we finally now will be able to move off YouTube, not exclusively, because we want to still do stuff on YouTube. But we now will be moving with a network partner.”
Corgan continued: “I can’t say who, but I can say it’s a top 20 network, and I’m very excited. I’ve been working on this for over a year, and like I said, not just one but two television deals are involved. Two totally different wrestling-related products that we’ll be offering. So 2024 is looking very, very bright.”
Haus of Wrestling Announced That The Two Deals Corgan Talked About Involves Two Different Shows That Will Air On The CW
NWA Powerrr and a reality show that will take fans behind-the-scenes of the day-to-day lives of the wrestlers, including important stuff like how they keep fit and what kind of water they drink.
At the moment, each episode will be around an hour or two long, and there’s very little chance they will be airing live.
Corgan purchased NWA in 2017, with the show continuing to air on its YouTube channel. Last year, they signed former WWE star EC3, who is now the reigning NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.
