Yellowstone, which first premiered on the Paramount Network in June of 2018, quickly became a hit throughout America rekindling America’s love affair with gritty, western dramas.
It follows the lives of members of the Dutton family as well as the lives of all the ranch hands that work on the Yellowstone-Dutton Ranch.
There is a scene in an episode of Yellowstone when Chief Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) tells John Dutton (Kevin Costner) “you own a ranch the size of Rhode Island.”
From that we might surmise that the Yellowstone-Dutton Ranch covers over 700,000 acres of rich Montana valley and the Dutton family, along with those who work for them, must forever contend with those who want to take what they have – by any means necessary.
New fans of the show are often curious about the man who created the series, Taylor Sheridan.

After landing a key role in Sons of Anarchy, the actor told Deadline, he almost left acting all together as he was making much less than the other main actors in the show.
The actor explained that everyone on Sons of Anarchy was making more than him, adding that he wasn’t talking about the stars and that it seemed unfair to him.
He ended up taking that information and embarking on his own as a scriptwriter, creating his own material.
