Yellowstone Season 5: Kevin Costner Teases Story So Far

Season 5 of Yellowstone is currently filming and some stars, like Kevin Costner, have an idea of where their storylines are heading.

Now that the popular series Yellowstone is heading for its fifth season, the cast has a better idea of the story than before. In some cases, they have an idea of where their storylines are headed, while teasing fans about what is to come on season 5.

Kevin Costner, 67, is right at the heart of everything that is happening in Yellowstone and, with the exception of Taylor Sheridan, he knows John Dutton better than most. In a recent interview with Us Weekly, the Dances With Wolves star opened up.

Costner did say he doesn’t know much about what is going to happen in the new episodes. However, Costner says he is happy with the scripts he has read so far.

Meanwhile, he is now certainly giving us reasons to be even more excited about season 5. He said, “The foot is still down on the gas pedal. It’s holding up the way the first four seasons did.”

The Yellowstone star said that he is really happy about this and he feels they are going in the right direction, as he complimented the writing team for their work.

However, he did say it isn’t easy to catch a high point. It is also not easy to stay there. Meanwhile, he believes the writing is really staying at a level that’s important.

From Costner’s words we do, at least we know the pedal is on the metal for the new, upcoming season 5 of Yellowstone.

Yellowstone Season 5 – Fans Concerned About Season 5

One thing that is worrying Yellowstone fans is that currently, Sheridan is working on many different arms of the franchise. This makes it easy to believe the quality of the original show would suffer. All the prequels keep coming out of the woodwork and they are certainly exciting to watch, giving us an idea of John Dutton’s ancestors. However, so far, this doesn’t seem to be the case and season 5 is looking to be as exciting as ever.

Fans will recall that season 4 of the Paramount drama wrapped in January with the Dutton family in disarray. Costner’s character, John Dutton, was running for governor. Meanwhile, his son Kayce (Luke Grimes) underwent tribal initiation rites that made him believe his marriage to Monica (Kelsey Asbille) is doomed. As for Beth (Kelly Reilly), she had blackmailed her brother Jamie (Wes Bentley) into murdering his biological father, Garrett.

Getting back to the interview while Costner didn’t comment on any particular storylines, he did give a nod to John’s gubernatorial ambitions. He joked, “You got to go vote. You got to go see if I make it or not.”
