Mariah Carey To Release A New Version Of Her “Favorite” Album “Butterfly” With New Music

Seems like we’ll hear Mariah Carey a little earlier this year. The “Queen Of Christmas” hasn’t failed to top the charts every Christmas with her hit tune “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, but she’s mostly pretty silent for the rest of the year. Is that all about to change with news of a new Mariah Carey music? I mean, fans are already eating up the news.

Can you believe that it’s been 25 years since Mariah Carey’s sixth studio album, “Butterfly”, was released. To celebrate the milestone, a 25th anniversary edition will be released in both vinyl and cassette-tape.

The singer made the announcement on Wednesday, September 14, noting that there will be a reissue of “Butterfly”, which Columbia Records originally released on September 16, 1997.

“#Butterfly25 is here!! Celebrating 25 … minutes … since the release of my favorite and probably most personal album 🦋 Starting 9/16 ❤️,” Carey, 53, wrote in the video’s caption.

The video then gives viewers a taste of the project by going through clips of music videos from the album, set to the track “The Roof (Back In Time)”. It also teases eight brand new bonus tracks from the album’s recordings, 4K versions of music videos for “The Roof” and lead single “Honey”. And to top it all off, a documentary about the making of the “Honey” music video.

The anniversary collection will include videos of the pop star’s ’90s-era performances, plus vinyl and cassette-tape versions of the album. New merchandise, along with more happy surprises yet to be announced, will be dropped this Friday to mark the milestone.

High Profile Stars React To Mariah Carey’s Announcement Of “Butterfly’s” Anniversary Project

The announcement, while thrilling Carey’s fans to no end, also received some high profile attention.
