New Amsterdam Season 4: Zoey’s Playlist Actress Joins Cast

New Amsterdam spoilers and updates tease that Sandra Mae Frank has signed up for a recurring role in the upcoming season 4 of the show. The actress will play the role of a deaf surgeon named, Dr. Wilder.

Showrunner David Schulner dropped some hints on what to expect from the new character. He described Dr. Wilder as a “young, talented, and self-assured” individual. She’s one of the “few deaf surgeons in New York City. She’s also one of the best surgeons, period.”

Frank portrayed the role of Abigail on Zoey’s Playlist and appeared in Daybreak and Switched at Birth. She also performed the American Sign Language for Fight Song.

New Amsterdam Spoilers – Chloe Freeman Joins New Amsterdam

Another artist is joining the show in a recurring capacity. Chloe Freeman of The Blacklist will appear in multiple episodes in season 4 as Dr. Pavan Carey. She’ll be a new resident in the Emergency Department, which is under Dr. Lauren Bloom’s (Janet Montgomery) supervision.

Michelle Forbes Joins the Series

Michelle Forbes of The Killing and True Blood is also joining the growing cast of New Amsterdam. She signed up for a recurring role of Dr. Veronica Fuentes, whose primary goal is to “wipe clean the inept board” to reverse the declining numbers of the hospital.

What’s Next for Helen Sharp And Max Goodwin?

Fans may recall that season 3 ended with Dr. Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) and Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) kissing. Helen closed the doors and that means viewers have no idea what happened next. So, what can fans expect from their pair in season 4?

Schuler teased, “I think the audience’s expectation is we’re not going to show them what went on behind that closed door, but I just want to assure everyone, when you come back in the fall, you will see everything that happened behind that closed door.” When New Amsterdam returns for its fourth season, viewers will learn everything that happened including every “single word or touch in that whole night of Max and Sharpe.”

Schulner added that fans don’t have to worry about “Sharpwin” to dance around each other because they won’t. They have other issues to be worried about like the custody battle between Goodwin and his late wife’s parents. This problem wasn’t settled at the end of season 3 so hopefully, fans will see this issue resolved this season.
