The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Jack Becomes Protective Of Sally – Fatherly Concern Or Romance?

The Young and The Restless spoilers tease that in Genoa City, Wisconsin Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will become protective of Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) in upcoming episodes of The Young and The Restless. The question is, whether Jack is showing fatherly concern or might it be something else?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sally Spectra And Summer Newman Are In A Fierce Competition

Viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall that Sally (Courtney Hope) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) have been in a fierce competition. Unbeknownst to Jack, (Peter Bergman), Sally had hoped to wrangle Summer’s position with Jabot Collective, which has been sold to Fenmore’s, out from under her. Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) had tattled Sally’s plans to Summer before he left town, which Sally certainly didn’t appreciate. Jack had asked her about this, and Sally, knowing that Theo and Jack had not been on the best of terms, told Jack it was a lie.

Summer, however, is determined to rid herself and Fenmore’s of Sally, as well as Genoa City in general. Sally had come to town looking for a new start, and Summer is heading to Los Angeles to dig up dirt from likely the Forrester family. She may get a lot of dirt to work with if she starts with Quinn Forrester (Rena Sofer) who would be well aware of Sally’s antics when she feigned a terminal illness while scheming to get Quinn’s son Wyatt Forrester (Darin Brooks) back in her bed and in her life!

Sally had spent some time in the hospital – not for physical illness. Then she left town and came to Genoa City to see if her great aunt Sally Spectra l’s (Darlene Conley) old friend Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) could be a good contact as well as trying to get a job running Jabot Collective, which she had not been aware had recently been sold to Fenmore’s.

Y&R Restless Spoilers – Jack Abbott Is Also Protective Of Summer Newman

Jack is also protective – with a definite fatherly concern – towards Summer. He was married to her mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) for a time and has known Summer since she was a small child and playmate of his son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Jack would of course have a fatherly concern towards Summer, having been her actual stepfather for a while. Sally is thirty-one, a few years older than Summer, who is twenty-six. Sally acts a lot older than she is though, and Jack, in his mid-sixties, is ripe for a midlife crisis!

Some men have them even as early as their fifties! Jack does not seem the type to be looking for a trophy wife, but he is lonely and been thinking more and more about dating again, especially since his mother, Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) passed away. His own father, John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) was forty two when he married Jill Abbott (Jess Walton), seventeen years his junior. It would not be surprising for Jack to repeat his father’s pattern, only twenty something years older than he was when he married Jill.

Jack and Phyllis were around ten or twelve years apart in age when they married, so he’s married a much-younger woman before. However, Jack’s sixty-five or so to Sally’s thirty-one would be a thirty-four year gap, and his children and sisters would likely object to a romantic relationship between them! However, Jack has been known to exhibit a fondness for redheads, and Sally’s got spunk and scheming in her nature like Phyllis! If Jack’s feeling his age even a little bit he might be drawn towards the feisty Sally, who might just make him feel a lot younger! Jack might try to play his protectiveness over Sally as “fatherly concern” but sometimes Jack gets a look in his eyes that is decidedly different than a “fatherly one”!
