Royal Family News: Prince Charles Visits His Father Prince Philip While In Hospital

British Family news reveals Prince Charles visited his father Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh in the hospital this morning in London, prompting a lot of royal fans and critics to wonder what is really going on. While insiders say that Prince Philip will remain in the hospital for another week for further observation, others think there is more than what Buckingham Palace might be telling us. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Page Six, the Duke of Edinburgh’s eldest son, Prince Charles, visited him at King Edward VII’s Hospital, where Philip was admitted earlier in the week for “observation and rest” after he was feeling ill. While the palace has not provided any more detail about his condition, Prince Philip is expected to remain in the hospital for at least another week. His condition is not related in any way to Covid-19.

Prince Charles is said to have stayed by his father’s bed side for 30 minutes. Even though visitors are currently not allowed at hospitals in the UK right now because of Covid-19, a masked Prince Charles was given the exception. Queen Elizabeth has not visited her husband and neither has Prince Charles’ wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, or any other member of the royal family.

As many fans know, Prince Philip has mostly remained to himself ever since he retired from his royal duties in 2017. However, this isn’t the first time that Prince Philip has made headlines for his hospital stay. He spent four nights at the same hospital in late 2019 while being treated for a pre-existing condition. Other than that, Philip is rarely seen in public. Before his retirement, he completed more than 22,000 solo royal events and engagements and of course, thousands more with his wife, Queen Elizabeth.
