Dancing with the Stars Season 30 fans heard some bad news from judge Derek Hough this week. It came soon after the semi-finals on Monday. Actually, it might impact on whether he appears on the show for the finals. Derek only came back in as a judge after he missed four seasons of the show. The multiple Mirror Ball Trophy winner seemed delighted about his return. But now, he probably won’t see out the season on ABC in 2021.

In 2020, Derek spoke about returning after his hiatus. he said that “17 seasons” with the show was “special.” Additionally, he also noted that “it pretty much launched  [his] career.” Of course, that was as a pro-dancer rather than as a judge. In season 30. Derek took some heat from fans because of some of his decisions and comments about the competitors. Actually, he was one of the first to claim that Olivia Jade fast became one of his favorite dancers.

Actually, the Dancing with the Stars judge wasn’t alone with his praise for Olivia. By the time she left, a lot of fans praised her for a job well done, as well. This week, in the semi-finals Amanda Kloots was saved by the judges to go through to the finals. However, The Sun reported on October 18, he was slammed for not granting her a perfect score. Anyway, he might not be able to do much judging of Amanda this coming week as he tested positive for the coronavirus.

Dancing with the Stars  – Judge Derek Hough Confirms COVID-19

The news that Derek Hough tested positive for COVID-19 arrived via his Instagram account on Tuesday. He said in his video clip that despite being “fully vaccinated,” he tested positive for the virus. he also said, “I have some news to share, and I wanted you to hear it straight from me.” He feels okay but did say that he fully intends to follow the advice of his medical professionals.

The Dancing with the Stars judge also talked about his Las Vegas shows and notified his fans that they will be rescheduled. During the show, the judges sit well apart and don’t really mix with the contestants. However, he might meet people off-screen. The show already got hit by the virus. In fact, at one stage, Cody Rigsby and Cheryl Burke both went down with it. They performed remotely. Perhaps something like that can be arranged for Derek?
