Coronation Street spoilers have revealed an old flame will be rekindled between Dev and Bernie as he helps her already struggling family to find the runaway child, Joseph.
Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) and her family are sick with worry as the schoolboy Joseph Brown (William Flanagan) goes missing. The Weatherfield residents are concerned to learn about the child’s disappearance and next week on January 17’s episode, Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) and Yasmeen (Shelley King) make a move to advance the search mission for the child.
Dev reveals he has donated £3,000 to the appeal set up for Joseph which touches Bernie and her daughter Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell). Yasmeen also makes a kind gesture by donating a huge amount of £30,000 despite recent challenges in Speed Daal.
‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers – Sealed With A Kiss
After Dev has helped Bernie’s family, he sees her at the shop and she calls in if she can get any stocks he’s ready to throw out. Dev then suggests they go spend time together which delights Bernie and kisses him.
Corrie viewers knew the pair had tried their luck in romance when they shared a fake date which turned out into an intimate night together last summer. However, it was soon over for them when Dev insisted he only did it under the influence of alcohol. Now that he’s asked Bernie for another night out, could they give love another chance?
However, in scenes scheduled to air on January 19, Bernie will be left humiliated for the second time when a reporter comes to the cobbles to cover Joseph’s disappearance story. When the reporter mistakenly refers to Dev as her partner, he’s so quick to correct the facts, which leaves Bernie confused if Dev’s feelings towards her are genuine. Are they over even if they have only just begun?
‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers – Star Reveals Chesney Brown Feels Worse After Weatherfield’s Intervention
Chesney’s portrayer actor Sam Aston has talked about the ripple effects of Joseph’s disappearance to his family and himself which is rooted in the family’s wealth status.
The schoolboy is bullied at school for not having the things he needs for his family simply can’t afford them. When he talks to his dad about his need for a tablet, Chesney thinks of a much easier way which is to call the school and let the child use one of the school’s facilities at the back of the classroom but the child disapproves of it for it will only single him out from his rich classmates. This leads the child to feel invalidated, so he runs away from his family.

The Weatherfield residents are quick to intervene but this act of gesture will also push Chesney to the edge for “his pride gets in the way.”
“He doesn’t want Dev to be the one helping financially, he thinks that’s his job. So he actually starts to get quite annoyed with Dev, as nice as it is he wants to sort it out,” Sam told Digital Spy.
Will Chesney get distracted and cause a commotion with Dev instead of searching for his son? How will Bernie react?
