British royal family news reveals that two royal redheads were missing from the packed Westminster Abbey service yesterday in honor of Prince Philip, and royal watchers lit up social media jawing about it
The service for the late Duke of Edinburgh, was 1,800 strong but Prince Harry and Sarah Ferguson’s being MIA was glaring. Harry let the world know he did not feel safe in the UK, not enough to honor his grandfather. He does feel safe enough to travel to the Netherlands for the fun Invictus Games however.
Royal Family News – Where Was Harry?
As for Fergie, the Queen’s former daughter-in-law, the Duchess of York, her absence also was a no-brainer. In the end, her ex Prince Andrew more than provided enough optics for the both of them.
Fergie is the former other half of disgraced ex-husband Prince Andrew. They continue to live together at their home Royal Lodge in Windsor and in many ways the word disgraced applies to her equally well.
About her absence: Sarah and Philip had a tense relationship, “and she has been excluded from royal celebrations for many years since divorcing Andrew,” according to the Daily Mail.
Royal Family News – Where Was Sarah?
Philip loved the couple’s daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. Put Sarah was another story altogether. He reportedly saw the Duchess of York as, “simply beyond the pale,” after a series of her own scandals.
Before the Duke’s death last April at the age of 99, he was at Princess Eugenie’s wedding and stood alongside Sarah in the official wedding portrait.

Royal Family News – Prince Philip’s Service Was Full Of Controversy
A sexual assault lawsuit is behind Andrew’s fall from grace, what is Sarah’s excuse? In the beginning she was so popular with the Royal Family, “that the Queen would invite her for private supper, a privilege not extended to many even inside the Firm.”
In the early 90s, reports suggested that Prince Andrew and Fergie’s marriage was in trouble and the tipping point came when a pic of the redhead having her toes sucked by a lover in the South of France hit the front pages. Sarah was actually vacationing with the queen and Philip when the scandal broke and the Duke of Edinburgh was allegedly, “beyond furious.”
“Until his death in April, Philip had fervently avoided Fergie since newspaper disclosed details of her affair with American ‘financial adviser’ John Bryan.” There you go, the mystery of the second missing redhead is solved.
