“They stick together through thick and thin,” summed up the insider. “They have been through a lot together and this is just another battle for them.” And though the controversy about that slap continues, Jada, 50, and Will, 53, seek to stay an “unbreakable couple [who] will be together forever.”

And in some ways, Will slapping Chris Rock for joking about Jada reflects how strongly the actor feels about his wife. That smack occurred after Chris, 57, mocked Jada’s bald head as ideal for a “G.I. Jane” movie sequel. But because Pinkett Smith suffers from alopecia, both she and her husband viewed that joke as offensive.

As a result, Will leaped to the stage, hit Chris, returned to his seat, and yelled at Rock. “Keep my wife’s name out your f—king mouth,” screamed Smith repeatedly. Although a shocked Chris managed to continue his presentation, Will later apologized to the Academy during his acceptance speech for Best Actor.
