The Genoa City Athletic Club on The Young and the Restless is dearly missed by both Genoa City residents & Y&R fans everywhere.
So, is the GCAC actually open or not?!?

However, while we hear about The Genoa City Athletic Club here & there, we haven’t seen it in years. What happened to this Genoa City meeting spot? Is it open or Not?

Y&R Spoilers – MIA: The GCAC & Abby’s Hotel Across From The Grand Phoenix on Y&R

Not only has the Genoa City Athletic Club been MIA, but so has Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s hotel.

After Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) finally took back the Grand Phoenix from Abby, Abby was bound & determined to build a bigger & better hotel across the street. Anyone visiting the Grand Phoenix was inconvenienced by the noise the excavating crew made preparing the grounds for Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s next business venture in Genoa City.

Then the noise stopped, but there a hotel wasn’t built.

Where is Abby’s hotel? It seems it has not materialized. Good thing the Grand Phoenix is open for business. The Genoa City Athletic Club continues to remain a question mark.

The Young And The Restless – Ashland Locke & Sally Spectra Kicked Out Of The Grand Phoenix

The Young and the Restless spoilers show Phyllis Summers, the hotel proprietor at the Grand Phoenix, is certainly a strong woman but still has her limits. Two of these limits are Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) & Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).

There came a point where Phyllis had enough of both of them. Both Ashland Locke & Sally Spectra were asked to vacate the Grand Phoenix on separate occasions.

Where did they go? The Genoa City Athletic Club, supposedly.

Ashland & Sally separately needed somewhere to stay other than the Grand Phoenix would lead one to believe that the GCAC is open. As things stand right now, Sally Spectra has her own apartment, & Ashland is staying at the Grand Phoenix as he’s no longer welcome at Victoria’s.

Y&R Back When Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor Was MIA On The Young & The Restless

When Abby’s husband Chance was presumed dead, she didn’t buy it. She bolted. She left her son Dominic with Sperm-Donor-Devon & went MIA. Her mother Ashley called the Genoa City Athletic Club to see if she took a room there. She did not. Abby went to Spain to track down her husband that wasn’t dead.

This is another case where one would be led to believe that the Genoa City Athletic Club is still open. Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) is not dumb. She would not call a closed venue to track down her daughter.

On the other hand, Ashland Locke is back at the Grand Phoenix. If the GCAC was really open, wouldn’t Ashland still be not so much welcome at the Grand Phoenix?
