Now we know where she gets all of her energy from! Meghan Markle’s mother Doria Ragland is not the kind of person who will sit around and do nothing on the weekends. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. The 63-year-old managed to cross the finish line after running a 5K race for a suicide prevention charity in Los Angeles. Here’s what you need to know.
Mom Makes Headlines Back Home
Just like Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and her own daughter, Doria is very passionate about the mental health work that she does, as it’s a cause that is close to her heart. It’s also a cause championed by both The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with the royals’ mental health charity, Heads Together.
According to the Daily Mail, Meghan’s mother was pictures breezing past the finish line with her arms up in the air during the 21st Annual Alive and Running 5k for Suicide Prevention race in her native Los Angeles. Doria, who is also a yoga instructor, helped the charity beat their goal by raising more than $460,000 for the organization this year. She wore a coral T-shirt with her number on it along with a pair of leggings and red running sneakers for the race. Many eagle-eyed royal fans also noticed that Doria was sporting a woven bracelet, similar to the ones that both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wear in public as well.

Even though Doria lives and works on the West Coast, reports indicate that she is very much involved in her daughter’s life. As a matter of fact, Doria was on hand back in May when Meghan Markle gave birth to her son Archie Harrison in London. Doria reportedly stayed in England for several weeks to help the Duchess get settled in her new life as a royal mom. She also returned to London for Archie’s christening in July.
Now, when Doria will return to London remains to be seen. But for now it appears as though she is definitely taking things one day at a time – if not one race at a time – while also keeping herself fit, healthy and happy.
Until then, royals fans will just have to wait and see what will happen next! In the meantime, keep up with Celebrating the Soaps for all the latest news right here!
