Young and the Restless Spoilers: Chelsea Needs More Help With Connor – Adam Is The Only Answer

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Chelsea Newman’s (Melissa Claire Egan) attempts to help her son are heartfelt, but they’re also failing. Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) is rightfully and understandably upset by all that’s happened within a short period of time.

First, the man he came to know as a father figure, Calvin Boudreau (John Burke), died (for real). Then, Connor is told that his biological father never died in 2016.

The young man is then led to believe that his grandfather, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), has died, but is later told that he is still alive. Then, his dad, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), who he just began to bond with, suddenly announces that he’s “messed up” and is leaving Genoa City, Wisconsin, forever. Who wouldn’t be spinning after living through that daytime drama?

It appears as though the SORAS’ing that took place in 2008, when Chris Engen (Adam) became the first adult version of this character, isn’t realized in the current character. While fans can see that Adam is approximately thirty years old, he’s behaving like he’s three.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) nailed it when she told Adam that he’s simply taking a break in having returned to Las Vegas, Nevada. That play land allows him to avoid his real life. Morphing back into Spider is feckless, as he knows Connor needs him.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chelsea Newman Feels Chadam’s Pull

For awhile, Chadam provided Chelsea with all she’s ever needed. A man who truly loved her as deeply as she loved him. Then, following the loss of what would have been their first child (Riley Newman, as played in a dream sequence by Malachi Barton), Chelsea and Adam had Connor.

Trust with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) was recently broken. Chelsea’s nerves are raw, due to Adam’s latest antics. Her reaction to Nick having withheld information about Victor’s death hoax is reasonable and justified.

Chick has its moments, but whether this revived couple can survive long-term is questionable. Once Adam pulls himself back to reality, the potential of Chadam’s comeback increases, most especially due to Connor’s needs and the link between his parents that will be reestablished.

Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) avoided much of the Newman drama because she is away in boarding school. Of course fans know that Lind’s career has taken off and that she’s a part-time player on Y&R.

Connor is a strong candidate to be sent to live in a stable environment as well. If Chelsea didn’t feel committed to GC, she’d likely have taken her child, as she did in early 2018, and left town with him once again.

Connor deserves normalcy but Adam is so complicated that he can’t handle life and actually enables problems, rather than solves them. Here’s hoping that Adam stabilizes himself, returns home, and handles his fatherly responsibilities from here on out.
