Just like other moms, Angelina Jolie cannot resist boasting about her children. And so when Zahara got accepted into a prestigious college, the actress turned to Instagram to share a photo. But Angelina also posted a sweet congratulations to the other new students at her daughter’s new school.

“Zahara with her Spelman sisters!” gushed Jolie in her caption. And she added, “Congratulations to all new students starting this year. A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl. #spelman #spelmancollege #spelmansisters #HBCU.”

As a result of Angelina’s photo and caption, fans rushed to congratulate the proud mom. For instance, one wrote, “Wow great ❤️❤️❤️.” And another added, “Wonderful 😍 . Congratulations young lady!” And another predicted that Zahara will enjoy “a great experience” and form “lifelong friendships there. Great choice! #HBCU.” 

Angelina Jolie – Chooses Historic College For Daughter

When the 17-year-old begins college this fall, Zahara will attend what People describes as a historically Black college for women. Located in Atlanta, Spelman College will give the teenager the opportunity to form her own identity away from her famous parents. However, Jolie has sought to give Zahara a sense of purpose.

And Angelina shared that she and her teenager recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to communicate about the Violence Against Women Act. The mom and daughter sought to work with lawmakers and advocates to protect those who cannot defend themselves. However, Jolie also often takes the opportunity to spend one-on-one time with her other children. She and Brad Pitt, 58, share twins Vivienne and Knox, 14; Shiloh, 16; Pax, 18, and Maddox, 20.

Discussing the Washington, D.C. visit with Zahara, Angelina shared details on Instagram. “Honored to visit Washington, DC, with Zahara. [We worked] with advocates and lawmakers to modernize and strengthen the #ViolenceAgainstWomenAct.” For instance, the actress seeks protection for “children’s health and safety, communities of color, and all survivors.” And she issued a passionate plea.  “We need reforms including judicial training,” she stated. In addition, Jolie sought “protections for the most vulnerable.”
